It should be one killer wedding.
Joran Van der Sloot, the convicted Dutch murderer and main suspect in the 2005 Natalee Holloway disappearance, will tie the knot with his pregnant Peruvian girlfriend while behind bars Friday, his lawyer has revealed.
The 26-year-old, who's currently serving 28 years for murder, will exchange vows in an intimate, midday ceremony with his girlfriend, Leidy Figueroa, in Lima's Piedras Gordas penitentiary, his attorney Maximo Altez announced Thursday.
The truly hopeless romantics met while Figueroa, 24, was working in the prison selling candies and cigarettes, said Altez.
Conjugal visits are granted to all prisoners at Piedras Gordas, an official said. Figueroa is expecting to give birth to his child in September, said Altez, who will be a witness at the wedding ceremony.
Van der Sloot confessed to strangling, beating and suffocating 21-year-old Peruvian business student Stephany Flores after meeting her in a casino four years ago. He was sentenced in early 2012.
In addition to Flores' murder, he's also suspected of killing 18-year-old Holloway, who vanished during a high school graduation trip to Aruba in 2005. She was last seen with him and another man.
The Alabama teen's body has not been found and Van der Sloot has denied involvement in her disappearance.
Despite his chilling past, in an interview with Crimesider in May, the bride-to-be gushed that her fiancé has transformed "into a new person."
Any chance for a happy ending may prove troubling, however.
Peru has said it will extradite Van der Sloot to the United States for questioning about the Holloway case once he finishes his nearly three-decade jail term.
He was never charged in Holloway's murder but does face federal extortion charges in connection to the case.

Given what happened to the girl for whose murder he was put away for, based on that history, it’s not hard to imagine what happened to Natalie Holloway. Even though he was never convicted of anything in her case.

Methinks Joran is in the process of setting up a long-range plan to establish what will be considered a "Peruvian family" in the hopes that way down the road Peru will not allow him to be "torn from his family" by being extradicted to the U.S.

If he’s got opportunity to impregnate her, he’s had opportunity to hurt her and - he didn’t! Not too much, anyway. So that means he loves her.
Hoping that there's a silent 'sarcasm tag' behind this statement. If not, the fact he didn't hurt her may only mean that he considers her to be 'useful', and nothing more than that...

i defies logic why anyone that’s been convicted of murder and is in a prison is granted anything beyond daily necessities. Nooky is not a necessity nor is marriage.
Guess it might be harder to kill this female while inside prison?
Is there a 3 strikes law in Peru???
Maybe there is a lesson in here for men...if you are planning to commit a crime which carries a long prison term, do it in a country which believes in "conjugal visits" for prison inmates.
