I think he’s 21. Will he ever play the same?

You’re right. It looked bad, but this is worse than I expected.

At first I thought he flopped to kill time. Then I saw the replay.

I hate to see this in international play, period. Regardless of the sport you really hate to see players in international matches for soccer, baseball, hockey or basketball get hit with career threatening injuries.

All their money is made at the club level and this threatens his livelihood from here on out.

I can’t imagine how people in Canada would react to an injury on Sidney Crosby in international play. It’s not too far removed a comparison.

There’s nobody like him, for sure. The team will look different, but they have lots of good players who, during the rest of their professional lives, play without Neymar (other than any Barcelona folks), so hopefully Big Phil and they can figure this one out.

Hopefully he can afford — and will listen to — the best in orthopedics and physical therapy.

Exactly. And that is the worst thing about flops, that they delay attention for the rare player who is seriously injured.

Agreed. Despite the depth of their bench, he has become the face of Brazilian soccer.

I thought it was “acting” as Brazil does a wee bit of that but not with the talent of the Italians. The replay certainly points to a serious injury. That I hate to see because Neymar really is that good.

And he’s not very bulky, either, as you saw when he got pushed off the ball several times today. But somehow he still gets the job done.

Poor Neymar. Nothing like having a broken vertebrae and a bad haircut.

It is a shame; I wanted Colombia to beat Brazil, but this was over the top. Usually when you see an international friendly, it is the second or third string teams because the best players wouldn’t risk so much for a meaningless game.

I thought he was faking it. Sorry.

But the morons with rolled him over onto the strecher. If you suspect a neck or back injury, you first secure and stabilize the body before you move it. Morons. They probably thought he was faking it too.
