I read a few weeks ago, prior to the MS primary an explaination that Thad Cochran was interested in retiring, but the GOPe would have none of it as they needed him to be reelected as a member in good standing of the establishment team.
IF he was to retire, he could resign after the election, and then it would be up to the establishment, not the voters to choose his replacement, thus no TEA Party to contend with.

The reason I’ve always included in my posts on the matter we need to purge the b-stards, Pull the chain, flush the Congressional bowl, over a minimum of three election cycles, and push Congress for term limits. Nobody should be in D.C. as a career.

Most business owners would be more conservative. Their money is being spent on liberal causes. Members should STOP FUNDING and make it clear to the chamber as to why they’re LEAVING.
I do wish some Republican, maybe Cruz or Sarah, would simply STEP UP and call it what it is when you LEAVE THE BORDER WIDE OPEN and invite people to come and stay.
It’s called TREASON, and a FUNCTIONAL opposition party would use that word.
