FULL TITLE: Here Are the Legendary Films Dinesh D’Souza’s ‘America’ Now Sits Next to Because of the Incredibly Rare Grade Viewers Gave It

TheBlaze earlier on Saturday offered a look at a pivotal scene from Dinesh D’Souza’s “America,” noting that the movie received an “impressive” A+ rating from CinemaScore.

Here’s a closer look at what that A+ score means — and the quite rare and top-drawer company “America” now joins because of it.

CinemaScore folks head to movie houses in five or six cities across the United States every Friday night and ask patrons to assign letter grades to the movie they’ve just watched, according to the Hollywood Reporter, adding that the results “serve as a fairly reliable indicator of whether a film will fly or fizzle.”

Just saw the movie. Thought it was great.

Stick with it through the first 20 or 30 minutes as he indicts American on five or six counts.

Then he comes to our defense.

He made some interesting points on slavery. He also covered Alinsky a bunch and he covered Hillary's connections to him.

Go see it. Twice.

AMERICA! bump!
this film won't be well received @ the Marxist White Hut,
$hillary, Is probably the one who had the filmmaker D'Souza
arrested and charged..this film (politically) kills her.
The charge: He had "the gall" to criticize her history on film.

Exactly! Not that any liberal would want to see it but should they they would be nodding in agreement the first 20 minutes. Then their heads would explode as they come to realize everything Obama and the leftist media has taught them isn’t true. They would probably be pleased that Hillary is connected to Alinsky.

Bono tried to tell the leftists that GW did the most for the African countries. But, in their stubbornness, they refused to see it. I still have a picture on my computer of Bush with one of the African leaders who was so impressed with Bush’s dedication to help them.

The ratings at IMDB.COM could do with some Freeping.

As expected, the ratings for this movie are bimodal — even bifurcated. Ratings are clustered around 10 and 1, according to the ideological bent of the rater, not the merits of the movie. IMDB then applies some sort of secret adjustment to the scores to come up with a rating. In this case the rating is only a 6.0, while the arithmetic mean of the ratings is 7.2. The score is being held back, by a lot of “1” ratings — likely from people who never watched the movie. That’s just the way it is with “political” movies.

IMDB has a lot of influence on movie goers, so a higher rating would be helpful. You do need to register to vote — but, if you’re already registered, go vote. BTW & FWIW, I think that a “9” will actually count for more than a “10”, after the secret adjustments.

It has never influenced me or anyone I know.

...”I also loved the insights into Saul Alinsky —Dinesh should consider a whole movie about him, or about Bengazi or Bunkerville.”...

Great idea.

I thought it was very good, particularly the way he set it up. The parts about Alinsky and his influence were excellent - and terrifying. Apparently not only Obama and Hillary were his devotees, but the latest Marxist harridan the Dems are suggesting for 2016 : Fauxcahontas, aka Elizabeth Warren. She’s shown in the film and she is one scary screech owl of a demagoging leftist.

Apparently, there are numerous more-easily-influenced people out there.

Alexa.com ranks IMDB.Com at #48 globally, and #29 in the U.S.
NYtimes.com falls well behind at #130 globally, and #35 in the U.S., and Rottentomatoes.com is ranked at #610 globally, and #258 in the U.S.

However bogus these IMDB ratings might be, and however little you think you’re affected by them — anyone who wants to promote a movie cannot afford to ignore them.

Absolutely. Yes. Do it.

Hillary was also infatuated with Alinsky in College days, wrote a term paper on him.

I don't "think" I am not affected by them, I know without a shadow of a doubt that I am not affected by them.

I don't do movies. It's just not my thing. Since 1996 I have gone to the movies two times. The first was in 2012 when I went to see 2016: Obama's America. The second was 4 days ago when I saw America: Imagine The World Without Her.

btw...I remember that 1996 date and the movie I saw then. It was Twister with Helen Hunt. I do all I can to NOT support Hollywood. Not spending my hard-earned cash to benefit those who support Obama and his Marxist agenda is how.

Kudos to you, for your principled stand against Hollywood. (I mean that sincerely.)

However, I would still say you’re affected by everything connected with the Hollywood movie industry — including sites like IMDB. For instance, the Hollywood hype machine (including IMDB) managed to make a “hit” movie out of “Brokeback Mountain”, and have made hits of leftists crockumentaries, such as Gore’s “An Inconvenient Truth”, and everything by Michael Moore. This constant barrage of leftist (for want of a better word, which would not get me banned from here) propaganda has most certainly affected all of us.

For D’Souza’s movie, the hype machine is operating in reverse mode, and the usual suspects are doing what they can to trash it. Even if you personally never watch movies — you are affected by the way they affect everyone who does.

I find strange your insistence that IMDB has somehow affected me when I don’t even watch movies. That’s like saying Motor Trend’s review of the new Camaro has had an effect on someone who doesn’t even drive; or like reviews of Starbucks could somehow mysteriously affect someone who doesn’t even drink coffee. It just makes no sense.

Let me try to spell it out for you:

Movies influence millions of people. Even when they’re not blatant propaganda (e.g. crocumentaries), they have a huge influence on the culture. Culture — as in the ongoing culture wars that conservatives are losing. Movies influence voters, and attitudes toward such issues as: “gay marriage”, immigration, terrorism, defense, etc. Because of that influence, Hollywood movies even affect foreigners, like me. They most certainly have affected you.

Sites, such as IMDB, are an important part of the Hollywood hype machine. They have a great influence on which movies are watched (even which are made) — and therefore, they affect you.
