How does the U.S. economy do it?
Europe is floundering. China faces slower growth. Japan is struggling to sustain tentative gains.
Yet the U.S. job market is humming, and the pace of economic growth is steadily rising. Five full years after a devastating recession officially ended, the economy is finally showing the vigor that Americans have long awaited.
Last month, employers added 288,000 jobs and helped reduce the unemployment rate to 6.1 percent, the lowest since September 2008. June capped a five-month stretch of 200,000-plus job gains - the first in nearly 15 years.
After having shrunk at a 2.9 percent annual rate from January through March - largely because of a brutal winter - the U.S. economy is expected to grow at a healthy 3 percent pace the rest of the year.
Here are five reasons the United States is outpacing other major economies:

The velocity of the M2 Money supply is in the toilet. The same place as our economy.
Europe is in toilet because of the euro. That was a stupid idea from the start.

That is a formula guaranteed to result in a bunch of bankrupt countries and one or two very rich ones.

I just returned from a trip to Europe. My wife’s bag didn’t make it there.
We went to buy her a hairbrush in a Paris drugstore.

I have not been able to fill my oil tank in 3 years. I go from 100.00 dollar load to load hoping my pipes won’t freeze if I run out. Lucky I have trees on my land so I can burn wood but at my age it’s tougher to cut , haul and split than 20 years ago. I was paying 1.75 a gallon when Bush was President now it’s 3.50 and more for fuel oil. Except if you live in section 8 housing and you get it free.
288,000 TEMP jobs isn’t a gain it means full time jobs are lost.
The largest drop in long term unemployment benefits. That’s why less people are being counted “looking for work”.

I live in a neighborhood wherein a 4 bdrm house rents for 2200.00. When we put out a tv, airconditioner, hot water heater etc for the garbage truck it disappears in a matter of hours (sometimes minutes). On recycle day, just about dawn, I noticed a local couple driving down the street, stopping at each recycle container, and picking thru the contents.
Things are changing in America. Once the middle class had enough going for it to leave such activities to the poor.
Sometimes I think I want what they're snorting, then I remember that a mind is a terrible thing to lose.
Get a good pellet stove like a Quadrafire or a Harmon. It will pay off in about two seasons.

Well well...... I had never made that calculation but I now know I was right for sure.
There is another reason for wage exscalation ( ghetto speak)..... to erase the costs of Obamacare.
