“Okinawa, where multiple U.S. military facilities are situated, regularly finds itself in the path of big typhoons. Many of the buildings on the island are designed to weather the powerful winds that come roaring in off the Western Pacific.”

Prayers for all, especially civilians.

Neoguri

Meal Noodle (NET WT 4.2 oz.120g)

The defining characteristic of this product is it’s thicker than usual ramyun noodles. Anyone who enjoys thick, rich, noodles, will appreciate this product. Neoguri is a perfect combination of spicy seafood soup and plump noodles. Nongshim is proud of its Neoguri and it is currently one of its top products.

Meanwhile, the Okinawans go bowling and driving to their favorite izakaya. Just a little rain.

I sat through several CAT 5 super typhoons on Okinawa. Everything is made of concrete, and home foundations have pile-driven I-beams as the cornerstones. Lots of wind, but little damage.

Our home was right on the sea wall (with the concrete breakers shaped like jacks). Gate 1, East China Sea.

Is that a wind turbine?!

Yes. Located in Chatan, Okinawa. There are a few around the island, but no large wind farms. This one didn’t work most of the time. And they locked it down during the typhoons.

Foster Gate 1? When were you there?
