The nation’s second legal recreational marijuana market is opening in Washington state Tuesday. Few Stores. Little Pot. No Edibles.

SODO’s Cannabis City will be the only Seattle location ready to go on the big day.
Cannabis City manager said the first pot delivery will come early Tuesday morning. Inside that truck, 2,265 small bags containing 2 grams each. Each bag will go for $54.
NO EDIBLES: The board just announced that people who want to make pot-infused sodas, brownies or other treats must get approval for their products, and so far no one has.
The edible-makers will have to have child-proof packaging, strict labeling and their kitchens pass a state inspection. The board doesn’t want any gummy candies or anything that would appeal to children.
Bring it across the Border into Canada and you will be arrested

The idea is that if legal pot in Washington state is priced less than outlaw pot, residents from neighboring states will buy here, return home, and sell for a profit.
So, on Tuesday, legal pot will be $27 a gram in Washington.
But, high quality outlaw bud in neighboring states is about $15 a gram.
The price in Washington is expected to drift down to $20 a gram once all the stores and growers are up and running.
Are residents allowed to grow any for their own personal use?
The State of Washington will totally screw this up. You can count on it. This entire thing is being set up by a bunch of unwilling state bureaucrats who have never run a private sector business in their entire lives. Plus they are trying to sell something that grows quite easily on it’s own in the back yard.
Is that expensive?
in the meantime, we spend millions and millions keeping cigarette smokers out of stores, restaurants, sports stadiums, buses, even parks....and we'll spend millions more "educating" about the evils of smoking cigarettes....
what about a hypocrites...
that is EXACTLY the nonsense about “legal” pot....it will drive many people to steal it or steal money for it....

That’s a great question.
I will guess “No.”
I’ve read through the entire law once.
I don’t recall seeing any reference to personal use.
The total number of growers for legal sales will be limited by law.
They must pass a background check, they must be licensed, their grow site must pass environmental and security inspections, and they must pay state taxes.
So the guy that just grew a couple of plants for his own use will probably go from a minor offense to a major one now that they legalized it. You don’t ever want to get between a statist and a revenue source.
By legalizing this the pro-pot crowd just invited more govt in their business. And the users will be paying more.
Colorado allows some number of plants grown at home. Washington does not.
Funny: In the news a few weeks ago, there was a story about how people growing pot at home are driving ham radio operators bonkers. The plant lights interfere with the operation of radios. There have been cases of ham operators using their equipment to find dope growers and offer to fix their equipment so that it won't bother the radios anymore.
