Cops take heartbreaking action 'every 98 minutes'

A rash of animal shootings by police officers nationwide has law-enforcement agencies running for cover amid growing public outrage that could force state legislatures to require greater accountability from men and women in uniform.

Certain Nazi training required they raise a dog and then as part of their initiation they then shoot it.....

Are they being “Conditioned”.... Will the patriot at some point be re-branded as “dogs” to make it easier for the people behind the trigger to pull the trigger?

Whats the problem, dogs are wrecking the environment. Did you know that as part of Cap & Trade, that there will be a national license fee for dogs of $500/ year, plus fees.

Cats will only be $200/year.

The only reason they have to give is that, in their sole opinion, they felt threatened. Case closed before it is opened.

I’m notorious for dividing creation into two groups:
1. Man
2. Natural resource.

This means I have no problem with people shooting dogs at their whim, UNLESS THE DOG IS SOMEONE ELSE’S PROPERTY.

I ran over a golden retriever once while driving, of all things, a full church bus. There was nothing I could do and it was most definitely dead and squished. The gravity of the situation really sank in was when the owner, a twenty something living with mom and dad, came out bawling like I just killed her husband.

When you kill a family pet, you are often killing, at the emotional level, a member of the family. This should not be taken lightly. You don’t have to feel for the animal at all, but the impact on the human beings that suffer the loss can be extreme. When you do it on purpose and without reasonable justification, you should have to suffer legal consequences.

Like Pope Francis said: it’s only a pet.

<><><><><

Since July 1st, there have been no fewer than 30 abortion threads on this forum. None of them pro-abortion. All of them against.

Is that not outcry enough for you? How many ‘horrors of abortion’ threads have you posted since July 1. None of the ones I saw were started by you. Why is that? Have you no outcry in you, and are just waiting for others?

Is it ok with you that we dog lovers can get upset over the wanton killing of family pets? Or do we have to prove something to you first before we are permitted to do so.

Why???

Because dogs are their competitiors.

They do the job that police are hired to do but seldom do — prevent crime.

A barking dog in a house is enough to deter most criminals — and they don’t call in sick or have work slowdowns or shoot their owners by mistake.

Like Pope Francis said: it’s only a pet.

And he's right.

But that's beside the point. Officers of the State willfully destroying private property without a semblance of just cause, simply because they know they can get away with it, signifies a State which knows no boundaries on its power and has slipped into tyranny.

Abortion is the second biggest killer in modern times. Tyranny is the biggest.

They kill pets because 99.999% of the time, noting will happen to them for doing it.

They have the guns, they have the badge and they are primed and ready for action.

They get psyched up for the take down, the adrenalin rises and they are ready to shoot.

Most of the time they realize they will have a problem killing a person without just cause but a dog is a freebie.

If they can't take out the target they can damage it by killing the family pet.

This is 100% straight up ‘God complex’ where lives can be taken, or spared. Cops are trained to believe they are the deciders of whether people and pets live or die, and it’s okay either way. It’s THEIR decision and theirs alone.

Because they’re cowards and they’ve learned they can get away with it.

Cops arrive stressed and the dogs sense that stress and bark protectively.

Waaaayyyy too many cops shoot just to shut the dog up, when it’s quite clear there is no threat.

Look at the number of stories where the dog was either retreating or confined.

I’m under the impression that police officers have to fill out reports every time they fire their weapon. Wouldn’t the bean counters in Internal Affairs be suspicious of a whole lot of “accidental discharge” reports, let alone a bunch of “had to shoot threatening dog” reports?

“Willy Pete”

“The West Virginia incident happened June 24 in a rural area of Mason County. A paramilitary unit scoured the woods bordering the property of 32-year-old Ginger Sweat. Her dog, a 6-year-old beagle-basset hound named Willy Pete, woke up from an afternoon snooze on his porch to the sound of eight officers coming out of the adjacent woods. Willy Pete scampered off to investigate. Sweat, who was putting one of her two young children down for a nap, looked out the window and saw an officer with a police dog on a leash emerge from the woods and ran out outside pleading with the officers not to shoot her dog, begging them to let her bring it inside.”

The officer shot once, missing Willy Pete but sending the dog, which had arthritis in its back legs, running back toward Sweat, she told the Charleston Daily Mail. Three more shots were fired in the dog’s direction, toward Sweat and the home where her two children were sleeping, Sweat told the local newspaper. Willy Pete was hit three times and fell dead in a pool of blood behind her mobile home.”

I will play Devils Advocate for the cops, for just a moment. Most of these dogs are not lap dogs, poodles, golden retrievers or beagles. They are typically pit bulls, rottweilers or pit bull mix breeds. Most of them were bred to be aggressive(ie KILL or fight things). Many people that have certain breeds get them because of the tough, bad boy image. These dogs have been bred for the last 1000 years to fight BULLS or other animals. All terriers were bred to hunt vermin and KILL it. They are aggressive by nature. Even a Jack Russell Terrier was bred to go down in a hole and kill a rodent.

If you were on a burglary call or drug bust in the hood and a 75-100# dog came running at you, what would you do?

I think the problem starts with the dogs owner.

I don't. I think the problem starts with the militarization of law enforcement; the willingness of the State to engage in open tyranny and murder; and the belief of those who have entrenched themselves within the ranks of said State, that they are now institutionally beyond the danger of open murderous revolt by the vengeance-driven general public against their specific persons. There are a multitudinous array of different sociopolitical miscalculations. Not all are fatal, but some kinds of corrective social changes always have been to those who believe it cannot happen to them. #RomanianTermLimits.

"Apparently any idiot can be a cop these days."

Apparently any idiot can be a police supervisor or local government official who does not DEMAND accountability of his police. Jail time for police thugs as well as for "civilian" thugs.

Perhaps the possibility of two or three weeks in the "general population" jail will motivate cops to think a bit before they act.

Thugs with Badges (whom I differentiate from actual police officers who enforce the law, respect the Constitution, and who engender the respect of the people they serve) are SOCIOPATHS.

The behavior of abusing animals is one of the hallmarks of sociopaths (along with the belief that rules don’t apply to them - they are above the law) and a fair number of these sociopaths are obviously in uniform.

Here in Pittsburgh we had a couple of weeks of public mourning and a big over-the-top funeral for a police dog who was stabbed to death by a drugged-out suspect.

Since then we’ve passed a new state law increasing penalties for killing a police dog.

Raising the very real possibility there will soon be someone in prison doing more time for killing a dog than the guy in the next cell got for killing a human being.

The headline remind me of the liberals screaming for gun control because “children” are killing “children” with guns. They don’t tell you that the “children” are gang-banging thugs that just happen to be teenagers.

Family pets my a$$. I shot a lot of dogs during my career, probably 99% were loose pit bulls that were chasing, biting or otherwise acting aggressively towards people. I NEVER shot a “family pet” although I was bitten by a few thanks to irresponsible owners who told me: “oh, don’t worry, sparky doesn’t bite.”

WND published this? NPR would be proud.

The local police forces are rapidly becoming federalized, part of the “National Civilian Defense Force”, which is to be “as well funded, and as well trained” as the military service establishment. Because they are NOT formally organized as an army, they may bypass the prohibition against the “Posse Comitatus” deployment of Federal troops to maintain civil order.

This is but the beginning of intimidation against citizens, bordering on terrorism exercised against members of the community. Paraplegics hauled out of their wheelchairs, females getting beat up at the side of the road, and various other examples of gratuitous violence, often for the sake of violence alone, being applied to “let them know who’s boss”.

Jack-booted thugs with a badge and gun are still thugs.
