Hillary Clinton Says She Had ‘Obligation’ to Defend Accused Rapist

By Liz Kreutz

July 7, 2014

Hillary Clinton has responded for the first time to recent criticism of her successful 1975 legal defense of an accused rapist, telling a British website that she was “appointed” to the case against her will and that ultimately she was just doing her “professional duty” as an attorney to defend him.

Last month, the conservative news site the Washington Free Beacon released audio uncovered from the Clinton archives at the University of Arkansas in which Hillary Clinton discusses how as a young lawyer she represented a 41-year-old accused rapist. In the recordings, from more than 30 years ago, Clinton is heard laughing as she describes how she was able to find a loophole in the system to discredit the evidence against her client, despite suggesting she knew he was guilty.

During a video interview over the weekend with Mumsnet, an online network for mothers in the UK, the former secretary of state spoke about the case for the first time since the story resurfaced.

“When I was a 27-year-old attorney doing legal-aid work at the law school where I taught in Fayetteville, Arkansas, I was appointed by the local judge to represent a criminal defendant accused of rape. I asked to be relieved of that responsibility, but I was not, and I had a professional duty to represent my client to the best of my ability, which I did,” Clinton said. Clinton continued to explain that as an attorney she had an “obligation” to provide him with a fair legal defense.

She had an obligation to enjoy doing it, too.

Hillary Clinton Says She Had ‘Obligation’ to Defend Accused Rapist

Is she talking about her husband Bill?

Was it “rape, rape” like Whoopi would say?

That is part of the justice system. But ridiculing what a 12 year old girl went through is unbecoming.

Only in the twisted mind of a sociopath would you have an obligation to defend your rapist husband.

A couple? A couple of sick, twisted, POS criminals.

What were Mrs. Bill Clinton’s “obligations” toward Vince Foster, Ron Brown, and the Benghazi Four?

Lemme see now, - - - it might be in her latest book in the Chapter entitled “Murder, she wrote?”

She didn’t have an obligation to lie in court, however, which is what she did.

Is there evidence she tried to get out of the case? That’s just the kind of little lie the Clintons like to throw in.

I don’t agree with her premise that she had an obligation to defend the creep. But even if we put that aside — did she have an obligation to find a loophole and get evidence thrown out even when she knew he was guilty? Do lawyers have THAT obligation?

She married a rapist. Why wouldn’t she defend one?

I asked to be relieved of that responsibility, but I was not...

One suspects yet another whopper to be added to the Hillary Clinton Mountain of Whoppers collection.

One thing seems clear regarding Ms. Clinton.

She is wholly untroubled by that conscience thingy.

Did you notice that she is being "correct" about the wrong issue? Nobody is saying she shouldn't have defended the rapist. The issue at hand is what vile psychological rape she did to the twelve year old girl in order to defend him, and how she found it funny afterwards.

Is that "correct," too? Especially for someone who craves the power of the presidency with psychotic levels of obsession?

Funny how her story is changing. I wonder if she knows HOW to tell the truth any longer.

Here’s an article where she said she took the case as a favor to a friend:

“The prosecutor called me a few years ago, he said he had a guy who had been accused of rape, and the guy wanted a woman lawyer,” said Clinton in the interview. “Would I do it as a favor for him?” - See more at: http://poorrichardsnews.com/post/89075990753/new-hillary-clinton-tapes-reveal-she-defended-child#sthash.KMOrizI3.dpuf

Hillary wasn’t obligated to do anything. She did it as a favor for one of her law partners. She lies again.

The Smartest Woman in the World completely misses the point of why subsequent cackling over her professional victory in defense of a heinous crime is devastatingly bad publicity.

she said years ago on audio tape that she took the case as a “favor”(a favor can be turned down especially if it goes against your core values of protecting women’s and victim’s rights).. evidently the favor was far more important than her phony war on women issues..

there was nothing said or hinted at by her in that very detailed conversation of that case about her asking to get out of it, it being an obligation or a direct order..

If she is made to tell the truth when she campaigns for President she’ll have to go all around the country saying “I’ll fight to protect all of you women and your rights UNLESS the man who victimizes you(like my husband or the little girl rapist) needs a favor of me.. then I’m going to ruin you instead..

Murder, she wrote?” Now that’s a more accurate title for the Harridan’s mendacious tome.
