Vote and work for Reform Party Shawn O Hara if McDaniel or another conservative can’t be a write in.
The Republican nominee will face two candidates in the Nov. 4 general election: Democratic former U.S. Rep. Travis Childers and the Reform Party’s Shawn O’Hara, who has run unsuccessfully for several statewide offices over the past 23 years.

Many here have speculated wisely that the game plan has always been to have Cochran step down and have the Governor appoint a younger Barbour to the Senate seat.

Isn't a special election required, unless the remaining term is quite short? Which would not be the case for Cochran elected to a new six-year term.

Yeah, get out there and support the GOP! Once the GOP wins the senate, the highly aggressive Boehner/McConnell leadership team will relentlessly pursue all avenues impeach Obama and shut down the ‘Rats! See how stupid that looks when you read it?

As far as I can tell, the results being certified is a good thing, because now proper legal challenges can be mounted against it.

Hopefully, they’ll continue to fight and fight and fight until the liberals who claim to be Rs are ground down to a stump, and the Mississippi GOP can be rebuilt by actual conservatives.

You aren’t defeated until you accept defeat.

What options does he have left?
Withhold all money to the national GOP. Give to conservatives you think will uphold what this country was founded on and screw the rest.
Cash is the key.

Just vote for the democrat and blow Cochran out of the water. Make it a defeat of epic proportions. The democrats are no more of a threat than entrenched GOP-e goons..

I used to feel the same way. But we are seeing the republicans act like democrats. They attack conservatives while helping Obama pass his agenda. It is no longer cheering for the Denver Broncos. No more rah rah team spirit from me. That is what we have done for decades. How's that working out for you?

If Cochran loses by 90% that is a message even team Romney's incompetent handlers cannot ignore. We don't need Thad. He needs us. Show him.

Thank you. I agree with this sentiment. We must NEVER give up...because that is exactly what they want us to do. That’s why they are overwhelming us with so much BS...to tire us out, exhaust us, make us feel like there’s no hope.

The only way, IMO, we have no hope, is if there was no God.

It's a shame that the GOP can't bring itself to put up that much effort to defeat Democrats instead.

This is so true in all the elections. Pubbies would rather feast than their own like cannibals in order to get an annointed person elected. But when it comes to running against a Dem, they act like scared little kittens...

If McDaniel loses out on the GOP nomination, he should run as an Independent. We will probably lose MS this time around, but it is time to show the GOPers that they had better pay full attention to their core.
