Court Calls Out Angry Atheists for Near Supernatural Claims Against the Ground Zero Cross
ACLJ.org ^ | 7/7/14 | Matthew Clark

From day one, angry atheists have made outlandish claims about the Ground Zero Cross – the two intersecting steal beams in the shape of a cross that was found in the wreckage of the World Trade Center following 9/11.

Not only have they made these absurd claims in public (calling it “offensive and repugnant”), they’ve made them in federal court. Now a federal appeals court is calling them out and demanding they provide a rational explanation as to how their “offense” constitutes a constitutional claim.

When the American Atheists first filed their lawsuit in state court seeking to have the cross torn down and removed from the National 9/11 Memorial and Museum, they actually asserted in their complaint that their members were experiencing “dyspepsia [upset stomach], symptoms of depression, headaches, anxiety, and mental pain and anguish” as a “direct and proximate result of the unconstitutional existence of the cross.”

When the case was removed from state to federal court, the angry atheists quickly dropped their bizarre claims about the cross causing them upset stomachs, but continued arguing that the mere “existence of the cross” was causing them “depression, headaches, anxiety, and mental pain and anguish.”

Reading their legal claims actually starts to make one wonder if these angry atheists, who vehemently oppose the very idea of the supernatural, are somehow ascribing near supernatural power to the cross.

And I though "gay" people were miserable. If the atheists wisely invested all that $$$ they spent over the years on their ridiculous lawsuits, they'd be rubbing elbows with Warren Buffet and Donald trump.

Wouldn’t it be delicious is the federal court allowed arguments based on whether something causes “dyspepsia [upset stomach], symptoms of depression, headaches, anxiety, and mental pain and anguish”?

If so, then let’s talk about Christians forced to make homosexual wedding cakes.

Militant atheists are a subset of "high conflict personalities," recognized as individuals with actual personality disorders, mostly cluster B. They thrive and depend on instigating and perpetuating argumentation and conflict with the world at large.

And their “ills” will nothing when G-d tells them to depart from His sight, workers of iniquity.

Oh and PS - maybe someone can point out to them the overhead electrical wires. Pole and crossbeam to look just like a cross. Now that’d cause their heads to explode.

Warren says he’s agnostic. He’ll learn otherwise sooner or later. Hopefully sooner for his sake.

Staurophobia - psychologically diagnosable fear of the cross

Two trade center towers, 110 stories each, both constructed of thousands of intersecting beams.
Man, what are the chances after a disaster like 9/11/2001 that a couple would resemble a cross?

That’s like throwing a bunch of sticks on the ground and then two of them somehow manage to intersect. Not only is that understandably upsetting, but almost impossible under the known laws of physics.

Paul referred to it in Galatians 5:11 as "...the offense of the cross..."

These are mentally ill people, that is they are leftists. Anericans hear about these degenerates in the msm so they don’t realize what they are dealing with. These are trouble makers you would never tolerate in person. They apparently are trying to have the cross destroyed.

I was just trying to understand their pain, you know? Intersecting lines almost never occur naturally or spontaneously unless someone is intentionally trying to ruin the day of an atheist. So of course they have a right to complain.

You miss the point. The cross had great meaning for people at the time, a reminder of how fragile life is, and a symbol of hope for the future. It may make zealous atheists feel sick, but it made many Christians feel good.

Peoople like Muslims willing to die for their sick illusions, aren’t they the underlying problem here, RobbyS.
If there’s a natural explanation for something, why throw up some bogus supernatural explanation?
Ockham’s razor: if there’s a simple explanation for something, go with that over a complicated explanation.
Or we can bay at the moon, “It’s a sign from heaven!” and then circle a large rock counter clockwise while beating our own backs bloody like moose-slimes. Giving ourselves comfort ...

It was two girders at right angles to one another mechanically joined at the middle, more or less. No more. Time to grow up.

Now, if it had been a Star of David, or crescent moon or Budhha made out of ceiling tile, something like that, then yeah, I’d say, maybe you’ve really got something there.

If the sight of a Christian cross make atheists so frothing at the mouth angry, I presume that the Ground Zero Mosque project made them equally upset? If it didn't was it because: 1) atheists hate only Christians or 2) if the atheists mess with the Muslims, the ‘moderate’ Muslims will kill and behead them? Is it because atheists don't fear Christians and they do fear Muslims? Really sucks to be an atheist.

The cross was formed by a natural phenomena. On the other hand, mature people know God often uses coincidences.

The rescue workers however saw this natural cross and it reminded them that life conquers death and that even in ruin and death God is present. This cross was made by nature, but even if someone constructed a cross, it could be argued it should be in the memorial..

You see, that cross became a place where these burley ordinary guys often went at their break time to rest and pray. And THAT is why it is part of history, and should be in the memorial.
