United Nations officials are pushing for many of the Central Americans fleeing to the U.S. to be treated as refugees displaced by armed conflict, a designation meant to increase pressure on the United States to accept tens of thousands of people currently ineligible for asylum.
Officials with the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees say they hope to see a regional agreement on that status Thursday when migration and interior department representatives from the U.S., Mexico, and Central America meet in Nicaragua. The group will discuss updating a 30-year-old declaration regarding the obligations nations have to aid refugees.
While such a resolution would lack any legal weight in the United States, the agency said it believes "the U.S. and Mexico should recognize that this is a refugee situation, which implies that they shouldn't be automatically sent to their home countries but rather receive international protection."
Most of the people widely considered to be refugees by the international community are fleeing more traditional political or ethnic conflicts like those in Syria or the Sudan. Central Americans would be among the first modern migrants considered refugees because they are fleeing violence and extortion at the hands of criminal gangs.

What the hell does Mexico care about this, they are nothing but a transit route. They need to be held responsible for this with appropriate sanctions.
A US run by a real President would see a caravan of busses converging on the UN headquarters and once arrived, deluged these third and fourth world dictators with thousands upon thousands of new UN Building Residents. When that is filled, dump them over the consulate walls of each country.
So does this mean we can gather them up and place them in “Refugee Camps” like what happened with the ‘Palestinians’ oh so many decades ago.
Mexico is part of the soetoro/jarrett/soros conspiracy. They would never have let hundreds of thousands of Central Americans transit their sovreign territory if there weren’t something in it for them.
If they are refugees then they have to be housed in Mexico just over the border of their homeland. Those that make it here should be housed in tent cities like other refugees. I suggest tent cities in south Texas and Arizona deserts. After a few days of 120 degrees they will decide it wasn’t so bad at home.
Why? Could the UN be in cahoots with obammy to help him ruin America? I know they both would love that.

At this point, they should be stopped before they leave Mexico, since Mexico is allowing their transit rather than providing them assistance. The way the current crisis is playing out, they're not really refugees....in which case the whole situation is criminal.

Then let Obama go to the UN for the billions he wants to care for the illegals (no, I won’t call them refugees). The “children Obama has brought here are the “seeds” to his amnesty plan, daring the opposition to be “cruel” to children. Their parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins will follow later after the “seeds” take roots, under the guise of “caretakers” and guardians. Democrats always use “women and children” for leverage.
