A Window Opens Onto the Left-Wing Conspiracy

The Democracy Alliance is not a famous organization, but it deserves to be. The Alliance consists of approximately 100 rich liberals who have taken upon themselves the task of coordinating America’s many left-wing organizations to promote a single radical agenda. The Alliance does not publicize the names of its members, but it held a conference for its “partners” and membership prospects in April, at the Ritz Carlton Hotel (naturally) in Chicago. Someone who attended the conference unfortunately (heh) left his or her copy of the documents passed out by the Democracy Alliance behind, and they eventually fell into the wrong hands. Ours.

In the document below, you can see the agenda for the April DA conference and get information about DA’s partners, among other things.

There is always a certain dissociation when leftists gather at a Ritz Carlton hotel to discuss their commitment to the poor. It is impossible not to laugh at this invitation to a dinner with Katrina vanden Heuvel, the heiress who bought and now runs the Nation magazine, a Communist publication, and New York’s newly-elected mayor Bill de Blasio. They will discuss “New York’s path to social and economic equality.” Sure: in the world to come, the hedge fund manager will share his income equally with the doorman, and Miss vanden Heuvel will divide her inheritance with New York’s poor.

In the meantime, though, let’s make sure the Democratic Party’s donors all make another billion or two. (Tom Steyer figured prominently at the DA conference.) And don’t miss this delicious detail: all of the wine that the Ritz Carlton served at the vanden Heuvel-de Blasio after-dinner event came from vineyards owned by Democracy Alliance partners! When you look at the agenda, it is striking how seamlessly the Democracy Alliance, with its far-left tint, meshes with the Obama administration. Thus, the DA partners were treated to appearances by David Axelrod and Debbie Wasserman Schultz:

But that’s not all: the ultimate Obama insider, Valerie Jarrett, also graced DA’s Chicago conference:

Note that Ms. Jarrett appeared along with Lizz Winstead, a comedian of sorts who founded the Daily Show, which, we are told, is the main source from which young people learn about current events. Entirely non-partisan, of course.

The Democracy Alliance does not itself raise and spend a great deal of money. Rather, being a partner in the Alliance requires one to contribute large amounts to other left-wing groups. The Alliance evaluates left-wing organizations on various criteria, and makes recommendations to its members as to where they should put their money. Currently, the Alliance lists 21 groups in its “Aligned Network”: America Votes, American Constitution Society, Black Civic Engagement Fund, Brennan Center, Catalist, Center for American Progress, Center for Community Change, Center on Budget and Policy Priorities, Common Purpose Project, Fund for the Republic, Latino Engagement Fund, Media Matters for America, New Media Ventures, New Organizing Institute, Organizing For Action, Progressive Majority, Progress Now, State Engagement Initiative, State Voices, Women’s Equality Center and Youth Engagement Fund. The most interesting of the DA documents that have come to light is the one below. It contains DA’s “investment recommendations” for 2014. Not only does it list the recommended organizations, but it rates each organization in several categories, sets out the group’s budget for 2014, and shows how much of that budget should be contributed by the 100 members of the Democracy Alliance. One category in which DA rates the organizations is “Collaboration,” as DA believes that all left-wing groups should coordinate their activities for maximum political impact.

Politicians like Harry Reid have denounced Charles and David Koch and others who contribute to conservative causes as “shadowy,” “secretive” people who infest politics with “dark money.” In that context, it is worth noting that most of the groups to which the Alliance and its elite liberal members contribute are 501(c)(4)s that do not disclose their donors. In fact, this question is addressed in a “FAQ” in one of the DA documents:

There is much information in this document, which I haven’t yet had time to digest fully. For example: have you ever wondered what Media Matters’ budget is? I can tell you: in 2013, it raised $13,820,000, of which $2,700,000 came from Democracy Alliance partners. Most of the rest, if I am not mistaken, was contributed by George Soros. DA notes that last year, Media Matters “partially met” its goal “to diversify funding and make organization more sustainable.” I assume that means that if one or two rich leftists die, David Brock is out of business.

These documents place an enormous amount of information about America’s Left at your fingertips. We have no proprietary interest in them; on the contrary, you can read them and comment on them here or elsewhere, and anyone can embed them on his or her own web site. They deserve, I think, broad circulation, as a window on the contemporary American Left.

Harry Reid is forever denouncing the Koch brothers, and others who contribute to conservative causes, labeling them as “shadowy,” “secretive” people who infest politics with “dark money.” ........but Harry has no problem with the Democracy Alliance's arch-secrecy since they are his Dummycrat comrades.

Keep in mind ......most of the groups to which the lib-loving Democracy Alliance and its elite liberal members contribute are 501(c)(4)s that do not disclose their donors. In fact, this is addressed in a “FAQ” in one of the DA documents....which was not intended for they eyes of the conservative riff-raff.

As far back as 2008, at the presidential debate in Nashville, candidate Obama advanced his signature plan that was ultimately enacted (by an historic straight Democrat party-line vote) into the "Affordable Care Act:

QUOTING OBAMA: "No. 1, let me just repeat, if you’ve got a health care plan that you like, you can keep it. All I’m going to do is help you to lower the premiums on it. You’ll still have choice of doctor.”

Repeated over and over ---- with the promise that every American would be saving $2500.00 on healthcare costs.

Harry Reid has no problem with the Democracy Alliance's arch-secrecy yet he is forever bad-mouthing the Koch brothers, and others who contribute to conservative causes. But Harry is closed-mouthed about all the "secret money" going to his grandaughter and his son. Read on.

WHAT IS THE CLINTON FOUNDATION'S CONNECTION TO HARRY REID? Under fire, Comrade Hillary Clinton asserts: “All of my six-figure speaking fees have been donated to the Clinton Foundation to continue its life-changing and life-saving work."

Life-saving foundation work? So how come the Clinton Foundation gave a "grant" to Harry Reid's granddaughter? To finance her little theatre group in Brooklyn? What are the life-saving benefits happening there?

(1) Harry Reid's son Rory is in business w/ the Chi/Coms on a multi-billion dollar solar energy project; Cliven Bundy and his land are standing in the way.

(2) Reports say Bill Clinton recently went to China to panhandle for his tax-exempt "Clinton Global Initiative" foundation.

(3) The "Clinton Global Initiative" (NOT KNOWN for giving out grants)---gave Harry Reid's granddaughter a grant for a Brooklyn, NY theatre she runs (what is a Brooklyn theatre's connection to "global initiatives?")

(4) A Nevada energy company also gave Reid's granddaughter's theatre group a grant.

Besides the "jewelry company" financed by her grandfather, Ryan Elisabeth Reid runs the Sprat Theater Company, a small theater in Brooklyn, which is also coming under scrutiny. According to Sprat’s Theatre Company Web site, it has received grants/contributions from:

<><> two major Las Vegas foundations:
Caesar’s Foundation, and the NV Energy Foundation.

NOTE NV Energy Foundation---is a non-profit division of NV Energy (a public utility). The NV Energy utility is a subsidiary of MidAmerican Energy Holdings Company which took over in 2013....and is now owned by a Warren Buffet unit.

BTW, here's Harry w/ his grand-daughter....the one who got $31,000 in laundered campaign funds for her "jewelry company" and grants from Clinton and Nevada energy foundations.

TALKING POINTS Then-Pres Clinton pursued his own political advantage at the expense of American interests and national security. It is well documented that Clinton and the Democrats took illegal campaign money from groups and individuals tied directly to the Chinese People’s Republican Army.

It is therefore not surprising that In January 1998 Clinton went against the advice of then-Secretary of State Warren Christopher and Pentagon experts by lifting long-standing restrictions against the export of American satellites to China for launch on Chinese rockets. Not only did he move control over such decisions from the more security-focused State Department to the Commerce Department, but he intervened in a Justice Department investigation of Loral Space & Communications, retroactively enabling Loral to sell critical missile technology to the Chinese.

Interestingly enough, Clinton’s decision was made at the request of Loral CEO Bernard Schwartz, whose earlier $1.3 million campaign donation made him the single biggest contributor to the Democratic election effort.

The result? Democrats got money from satellite companies and from Chinese communists; China got supercomputors, advanced production equipment and missile technology; Loral got its satellites launched at bargain basement prices . . . and the transfer of sensitive missile technology gave China [for the first time] the capability of depositing bombs on American cities.

Incidentally, Loral ultimately failed to benefit from this permanent injury to America’s security interests: in July 2003, the company filed for bankruptcy protection, and in order to raise cash was forced to sell its most profitable business – a fleet of communications satellites orbiting over North America. The Harry Reid connection to the tax-exempt "Clinton Global Initiative" needs to be investigated ASAP.

TALKING POINTS The propaganda machine for Obama grinds on. The 2012 presidential election had ended, but Obama’s propaganda campaign continued, utilizing a newly-foomed tax-exempt nonprofit organization dubbed...."Organizing for Action."

Not content with a loyal, compliant and supportive media, in lock-step w/ his goals, this group encourages support of the president’s agenda while ruthlessly targeting and criticizing all opposition in its path.

Organized under a 501(c)(4) social and nonprofit label, “Organizing for Action” will attempt to influence public sentiment concerning issues in preparation for the 2014 congressional elections.....and beyond.

The ruthless group utilize a multimillion-dollar budget, character assassination and threats, to intimidate all who oppose or criticize Obama’s policies.

To dare criticize incurs slander and accusations and name-calling, such as "being out of the mainstream," tarring critics as "radicals, extremists, right-wing ideologues without heart for the underprivileged."

Keep in mind, this permits unlimited donations by corporations, lobbyists and those seeking influence or favorable consideration on matters like the shady money-laundering operations of Solyndra.

Anyone raising or contributing $500,000 will have guaranteed access to the president. Many consider this “selling the presidency,” and even some liberals are critical.

While claiming to be non-political, "Organizing for Action's' chief goal is to destroy the Republican Party, the Tea Party, conservatives.....anyone who dares oppose the "transformation" of America.

The WH Chicago political kingpins are in deep---the same individuals who ran Obama’s re-election campaign, Jim Messina, David Axelrod and David Plouffe.

Americans are being forced to endure years of Obama's perpetual campaigning, political arrogance and lack of leadership while unsolved national problems affecting ourselves and our children’s and grandchildren’s futures remain untouched.

John H. Hinderaker (born September 1950) is a conservative American lawyer, as well as a fellow at the Claremont Institute. He is a 1971 graduate of Dartmouth College in Hanover, New Hampshire, and received a Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Harvard Law School in 1974.

Power Line gained widespread recognition for its 2004 reporting on the Killian documents controversy relating to a CBS report on George W. Bush’s service in the Texas Air National Guard, starting with a post entitled “The Sixty-First Minute”.[9] Conservatives (including Power Line, National Review Online and Little Green Footballs) referred to the controversy as “Rathergate”. The blogs and their readers contributed research in assessing the authenticity of the documents, presenting evidence of forgery. After a Free Republic contributor pointed out that the alleged documents used a proportional font, Power Line helped advance the story, triggering coverage by mainstream media outlets. Dan Rather apologized and resigned from the CBS anchor chair. Power Line became identified with the Pajamahadeen when criticized by a former CBS News executive.
