Watch Mika Get Verklempt Over Obama Impeachment Talk
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 07/09/2014 5:02:51 AM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

Bartender—send a double Wyborowa with a Zoloft chaser to the nice lady at the end of the table. But seriously, relax, Mika. Four months before an election in which they are poised to triumph, congressional Republicans are not about to muddy the waters by trying to impeach President Obama.

But on today's Morning Joe, that reality did not prevent Mika Brzezinski from getting verklempt and asking for time to compose herself before introducing a segment on impeachment talk from Sarah Palin and Iowa Republican Senate candidate Joni Ernst.

View the amusing video here.

I’d say this is the result of a guilty conscience

I think so too.

As someone pointed out up thread, her Grandfather and father lived under the type of government she is helping to bring about here. She may have the beginnings of an understanding that she will have to explain her life to them at some point.

Good grief. For a woman who wouldn’t have a job were it not for her last name, she certainly shows why.

“...Win the senate and turn Cruz loose....”

I hope you’re right. I just don’t see it happening.

“...impeachment and removal of Obama will energize the base to levels not seen in decades...”

And the Dems will energize their various minority coalitions, screaming “racism-racism-racism” and the GOP will be absolutely terrified of being called racist and cave.

But like I said - I hope you are right, and I am wrong.

Don't be a drama queen, Mika. Soviet newscasters never lost their composure on-camera.

They delivered all news items with straight faced stoic professionalism, even if the story involved the treasonous utterances of an "enemy of the people".

The impeachment and trial of Clinton was a failure and boomeranged against the Republicans in the 1998 Congressional elections.

The 1998 elections weren't that bad. The GOP lost 4 seats and retained their majority. Not a great showing in an mid-term election but hardly disastrous.

You need 67 votes to convict the President on impeachment charges; this will not happen in 2014 or 2015.

Or any time in the near future. But if the reason for not impeaching Obama is that the Senate will never convict, then why repeal Obamacare a bazillion times since that hasn't got a chance in the Senate either? Do something because it's right, even if the Senate will kill it. If you're not going to do it then why talk about how it should be done?

Since you are so good at reading the future and results, what are the lottery numbers tonight?

You don't need to be clairvoyant to know that these bozos are all talk and no action.

At some point we’ve got to “convince” the treasonous Senators that if they do CYA for the foreign enemy combatant in the White House while the country is destroyed, they will never be able to show their faces in public without being booed.

At some point we’ve got to “convince” their constituents that the rest of the country doesn’t appreciate them continuously putting traitors in office and destroying the whole foundation of ACCOUNTABILITY upon which this system rests. It only takes one hole in the armor for the whole nation to be hit, and they better STOP being that hole. After the Twin Towers fell, New Yorkers should know better than anybody how dangerous the political treachery can be.

Maybe moving some of those illegals up there - preferably some with cartel and terrorist stripes - would remind them of that, again...

Come on, you tough New Yorkers. Come on you tough PA coal miners. We all need to get serious and use whatever means of persuasion we’ve got. We’ve already seen what happens to a nation that refuses to be vigilant. Hold your Senators accountable.

Saw this this morning. Unintentionally hilarious. Then plagiarist/liar Mike Barnicle condemned poor old John McCain for forcing Our Sarah on the entire nation. Then, of course, they switched to the non-embarrassing Ronan Farrow for several minutes of idiocy.

They are concerned about a public demanding impeachment, trying to squash any momentum to the discussion

Current Drudge poll
Over 72% yes impeach of over 300,00 votes
Less than %13 no

Isn’t it amazing that these braindead Marxists decide who is intelligent and relevant and who is not. Sad thing is our side including FR go right along with them.

Pray America wakes up

It shouldn’t be ‘verklempt’, but instead, ‘verruckt(insane).’

Too bad.

Sarah’s right. There are more than enough grounds to impeach.

I’m tired of having a pResident who won’t follow the law.

The impeachment of Clinton was based on his perjury and obstruction of justice. Since these activities were based on his sexual misconduct, that gave a cause for the MSM to push their metanarrative, "It's just about sex." Also, parties out of Presidential power usually pick up Congressional seats, as in 2010, 2006, and 1994, so a four seat loss in 1998 was a subpar performance.

The allegations against the Obama Administration are far more serious than what was charged against Clinton, exceeding those against Nixon. However, there has been no serious investigation, no independent prosecutor to tie in the many misdeeds directly to the President. The office of the independent prosecutor, established as a post-Watergate reform, expired in 1999. It will take congressional legislation to re-establish that office. Even assuming a GOP majority in both Houses of Congress in 2015, Obama would veto such legislation. Barring the restoration of the independent prosecutor, I doubt that Boehner or McConnell have the courage to pursue impeachment charges or to seriously investigate any misdeeds by this administration.

Don't underestimate the power of blackmail. "Dead girls or live boys" still has power and may explain the behavior of several GOP representatives. Additionally, the MSM will play the race card, perhaps a tired one, but one that will fire up the Democrat base of minorities, elite whites on both coasts and the Upper Midwest, and young, tattooed white trash. This will benefit Hillary Clinton, Elizabeth Warren, or whomever else the Democrats run in 2016.

“It really scares me”.

As it should, Mika.

Sarah’s message was meant to scare you. Sarah Palin knows there’s no stomach for impeachment within her party, her statement clearly includes the words “any politician”. It was directed largely at democrats, who had better give this guy the hook before he completely destroys not only the party, but liberalism itself.

It wouldn’t scare you Mika, if you knew that removal from office wasn’t deserved. What’s really scaring you Mika, and other democrats, is, it is slowly dawning on you that Barack Obama considers the Democratic Party as part of the problem too. His penchant for “going around Congress” includes going around the Democratic Party.

His worldview requires that the whole thing comes tumbling down.

The Democratic Party is just as much his enemy as are the Republicans.

And by the time you people realize this, it may be too late for you.
