“Herr General! The big ‘9’ went a way. Should we be concerned?”
“I am sure it will turn up somewhere.”

Yeah, what happened to the US Ninth and British Fifth Armies? The Canadian First is still there but without Crerar's name.

And, gosh, who do you suppose is commanding the US Third Army?

A few years ago I passed some delightful days in Volterra, Tuscany, Italy. It’s an old Etruscan town and the museum has some interesting artifacts. Tuscany is one of the most pleasant places on earth in the fall, although obviously our troops are having a rather different experience.

There also seems to be a lot of white-out on yesterday’s and today’s map where British divisions used to be. I think the Germans are starting to realize they’ve been had. Now that’s a facepalm moment with Keitel and Jodl I would love to have seen. When they move HQ 15th Army, the subordinate infantry divisions and 116th Panzer to Normandy, we’ll know for sure that they know for sure.

That looks like a map from the official US Army history.

I got it from the 32nd Division website. I don’t know where they got it from.
