If DDOT had access to DDT, the problem would be solved quickly.

There was a time in this country when bedbugs were a common pest.
Insecticides, home washing machines and personal hygiene practices practically eliminated the problem for decades. The resurgence of bedbugs proves we are regressing into third world status................

I remember flying in on a 141 from Kadena to Hickam in 1971. When it landed, two dudes came on the plane with two big OD spray cans of DDT and walked up and down the sides of the cargo slips on both sides several times and dosed everything! Even the pax. They stopped when the cans were empty.

When I was a kid, people would take their beds, mattresses and pillows out on the lawn to soak in the sun all day on weekends during the summer. This would kill the bedbugs and their eggs.................

That woman played a very large part in the deaths of untold numbers of human beings on this earth from diseases that could have been eradicated through DDT.

Despite her work, I remember times when a boy in the 50s and 60s when getting sprayed with it (fogged in fact and breathed it). This was to control disease carrying mosquitos.

She absolutely is responsible for their deaths. Ecologist my a$$.

Exactly what I was thinking. Isn’t DDT still available in Mexico? Should be easy to pay the wetbacks 10/bag to bring it in. They ought to serve some useful purpose.

In ‘85 I took a new job in Central Ky and stayed one night in a cheap motel. Got up early the next morning and counted 16 Mexicans coming out of one motel room, they had to sleep standing up. It was like one of those clown cars you see in the circus. Being from E. Ky had never been exposed to them and their ways, horse farms bought those in to the Lexington area. Louisville area the tobacco farmers bought them in. Greed destroys, that’s why thou shalt not covet is one of the 10 commandments.

There was an outbreak of crabs in the latrine at the motor pool. The Company Commander called a timeout and the company had a GI Party at the latrine at the motor pool. Nobody could use the latrine. The crab problem in the latrine at the motor pool went away and never came back.

There are places in this nation where we need to call a timeout and have a GI Party and shut things down for awhile.
