Ray Nagin received a sentence of 10 years in federal prison for public corruption Wednesday, but the former New Orleans mayor continues to deny that he is guilty of any wrongdoing.

“Well, you know, all of this was pretty surreal to me,” Nagin told the WDSU TV news station. “I still maintain my innocence. We’re going to appeal this thing.”

The pardon from Obama will be in the mail, Ray, probably in Jan. of 2017. Lawless Dems need to stick together, after all.

Nagin was convicted of 20 of 21 counts of bribery, wire fraud, tax evasion and other charges.

Don't you hate when that happens.

Having grown up with no moral compass outside of the South Louisiana Democrat political machine, I am sure that Ray Nagin really believes he has done nothing wrong. As Edwin Edwards once said, “If I am in office, of course my friends will profit.”

"Well, Nagin, the Universe could not suffer the GEORGE BUSH HATES BLACK PEOPLE lie you helped propagate throughout the WORLD, and this is Karma."

Really!!

Ray you should have known that GWB wouldn't let you get away with talking about him like that.

I mean, even Jesse said, "stay out da Bushes."

“In my opinion, I’ve been targeted, smeared and tarnished,” Nagin explained to WDSU. “For some reason, some of the stances I took after Katrina did not sit well with some very powerful people, and I paid the price.”

In the immediate aftermath of Katrina, or maybe before it had subsided, when a Mayor , you would think, should be doing everything he could to help his city, didn’t Nagin, instead, head to Dallas supposedly to take his family to safety.

What a thoroughly worthless POS.

And isn’t it such a typical “chocolate thing” to always blame someone else and never take responsibility?!

I would imagine it doesn't sit well with all of those that died as a result of his inaction either.
