OK - now we are getting somewhere.
That’s nice. Is it binding?
Bring it up for a vote tonight.
FINALLY! I was wondering when this was going to happen if ever.
Lois Lerner will disappear faster than an Illegal with Obama44 Yes we Can shoes
The order has to come from the Speaker who will issue a warrant.
Shackles and an orange jumpsuit... Delicious.
Arrest the IRS commissioner and his lieutenants for contempt of congress too.
Send Jack Bauer to interrogate her lying *ss. ;-(
oh, so the day after never...
Soo, does this mean Boehner actually did something or are we still waiting on him?
filed a resolution directing the Sergeant-at-Arms to arrest Lois Lerner for contempt
They wrote a letter to the baliff to arrest someone who left the courtroom weeks ago....
Yeah, they sound like the UN.
I will rejoice when she is actually behind bars..
I’ll believe it when I see it. Boehner hasn’t got the balls to do it.
The Governor of Hawaii has given the Hawaii 5-0 team complete immunity, so they are exempt from the constitution (remember, Hawaii is a blue state so it’s ok). They could do the “interviewing” as well.
It’s about time.
“filed a resolution” - has to be voted on... has to be even BROUGHT UP for a vote.
“...filed a resolution...” Does that mean it goes to the floor for a vote? If so, I bet it doesn’t pass....to many republican cowards.
Best news I heard all day.
Yeah, right. That's going to happen. Sure.
The latter. But it’s in his highest priority dead letter bin.
Boehner has GOT to go.
When Obama was elected Boehner said “We’re ready to be lead”. And since that day he has been lead like a dumb ox with a ring in his nose tied to a rope held by Obama.
Best news all day, I can’t wait to see the pictures. Not a smidgen. Ha
Article says Congress would be upheld in the courts if they do:
That’s what I figured. Boehner hasn’t got the guts.
Let’s see if he proves me wrong. It is an election year, after all.
But I’m still believing no action will be taken.
Can’t upset his golfing buddy.
When Drudge has this up with a red siren I will get exited. Until then it is just a BS pile. They could also lock up Eric Holder, but that will never happen either.
Can you imagine a stand off between the FBI and the Capitol Police?
Apparently only the House would have to pass it for it to pass and Lerner be jailed:
Can they also arrest Eric H. Holder, Jr, who is also in defiance of Congressional contempt charges?
War on women continues.
Do it immediately, Rep. Stockman.
I’ll believe it when I see her perp walked.
Repubs are not restoring a Christian nation.
That would be interesting...I wonder who has the most ammunition?
And what is the Capital Police's Jurisdiction? Does she have to be on their premise or can they "Serve" her and Arrest her at home? Where would they hold her? FR-er Legal Eagles, please inform, this is way above my pay-grade...
Where would they lock her up?
OK. So they arrest her. Where do they jail her. Who interrogates her? Who prosecutes her? All that is under Holder, no?
If found in Contempt the person can be arrested under a warrant of the Speaker of the House of Representatives or President of the Senate, by the respective Sergeant at Arms.
Statutory criminal contempt is an alternative to inherent contempt.
Under the inherent contempt power Congress may imprison a person for a specific period of time or an indefinite period of time, except a person imprisoned by the House of Representatives may not be imprisoned beyond adjournment of a session of Congress.
Imprisonment may be coercive or punitive.

Anderson v. Dunn - 19 U.S. 204 - And, as to the distance to which the process might reach, it is very clear that there exists no reason for confining its operation to the limits of the District of Columbia; after passing those limits, we know no bounds that can be prescribed to its range but those of the United States.

Rules of the House of Representatives, Rule IV Duties of the Sergeant at Arms - execute the commands of the House, and all processes issued by authority thereof, directed to him by the Speaker.
An analysis of Congressional inquiry, subpoena, and enforcement
Yes he did, and yes he has.
Ray76, I have posted Boehner's quote and photo from that day several times. It was truly one of the most disgusting moments of my life, how he prostrated himself as if to a reigning sovereign. I can hear his voice and it STILL makes me sick and furious every time I think about it.
I say go for it. Let's roll the dice and let the chips fall where they may. I'm afraid, though, that the Repubs will do what they always do: bark, and then roll over and play dead.
They have got to get rid of that groveling craven sycophant Boehner.
My money would be on the FBI: better training, better weapons, better people.
If Boner thinks arresting her will cause the GOP to lose even one seat in Nov, he won’t do it.
I wonder if Obama will ask to have the flags lowered to half mask when Ms. Lerner unexpectedly and sadly have a life ending event...
Congress would be legally justified to arrest those found in Contempt. The FBI would be breaking the law if they interfered.
Besides that who in the FBI would risk their necks for Holder or Lerner?
Yep. Lois is about to have an unfortunate accident.
Wonderful now when are they going to do the same for Obama?
