Guatemala’s first lady Rosa Leal de Pérez traveled to the US-Mexico border earlier this month to see how the US is dealing with the surge of migrant children, many from her nation. She called the situation a “humanitarian crisis” and said she believed the kids were primarily traveling to the US in order to reunite with family members. Ms. Leal de Pérez blamed US immigration policies for keeping families apart and parents for putting their kids at risk. Something she didn't find responsible? Violence back home. “I can’t say violence isn’t a problem in our countries,” she said, referring to Central America’s northern triangle, which includes Honduras, El Salvador, and Guatemala, and from where the majority of these young migrants are fleeing. But she said violence wasn’t the reason kids were heading north.

I read the Christian Science article at your link. It talks about all the gang violence in Guatemala, and it is increasing because the lawlessness in Mexico is spread into Guatemala. I saw the pictures of those “children.” Great, now Mexican-Central American gang violence will bleed north to us.

Oh, yes, I read that post. You know they make these garbage movies in Hollywood, where there is a hero and he does the tough things, fights mano o mano, stands up to the bad guys.
But Hollywood would never dare make a movie on how the US is being set upon by the world’s bad guys like this. They would rather cast American citizens as their own bad guys.
It is such a lefty thing to do. Instead of improve yourself, tear down someone else that is doing better than you.

no they are not fleeing violence - they are being lured by Obama with promise of freebies - free education, health care, welfare checks, etc.
This was/is a well planned operation with participation from both sides of the aisle. laws were enacted and passed previously for this very purpose.
She’s got nerve to blame US lack of amnesty for this.
