We have no particular obligation to these children as a nation. Individuals can feel compelled to help but they can’t MAKE us as a nation take up this cause. Let Hollywood throw a telethon :-)

The cause of this is the implied amnesty offered by 0bama. I don’t think too many disagree with this. There have always been illegals and economic emigrees from poorer nations here, I get that. There were not floods of tens and hundreds of thousands of illegals all swarming to the border over 2-3-4 month periods.
BUT TO FIX THIS we have to wring our hands and guilt ourselves as to how cruel we are or how altruistic and understanding we are. And we have to house them and we have to feed them and we have to de-louse them and inoculate them and lawyer them for their deport/non-deport hearings then we have to track them and have to transport them all over the place and then school them. And we have to massively expand DHS and we have to upgrade our security because we don’t know crap about how many of these people might be Islamic malcontents or terrorists wishing to do us harm. We have to ask “how exactly does this work” and undoubtedly spend millions for consultants and studies and every sort of government grift imaginable. Not to mention the load they will impose upon hospitals and welfare programs. Then we have to go get their parents or if they are parents we have to go get their kids, or, for those who get deported, we have to pay to deport them.
We are the negative beneficiary, the victims of this grandiosity of the part of a runaway government but when WE claim victimhood, we’re racist haters.

Just look at them. They come for our Dream Act, the land of endless handouts, showers, healthcare, food, drug gangs, Democrats, Obama phones, housing, violence, hate, and revolution.

Since the U.S. government is the agency foisting this unwanted herd across our borders, I believe that every American ought to be involved, with SENDING THEM BACK!
Our moral obligation extends only to treating them humanely while expeditiously returning them to their homes.
Diplomatically, we need to lay down an ultimatum to the countries that are facilitating this invasion: take care of your own borders or we will withdraw all aid and halt all commerce with you. And immigration from your countries will be indefinitely suspended. And you will be assessed the costs of caring for the invaders plus the costs of returning them to your country.
