Chilling! Democrat Tells Religious Americans: You Must Choose Between Your Faith or Your Business
Pajamas Media ^ | 07/11/2014 | Bryan Preston

Posted on 07/11/2014 8:11:20 AM PDT by SeekAndFind

Progressive Democrat Sen. Chuck Schumer (NY) admitted Thursday that he doesn’t even know what Hobby Lobby sells. He tacitly admits that he doesn’t care that it is a family-owned business.

Nevertheless, in announcing that the Democrats will pursue legislation to overthrow the Supreme Court’s decision of last week, Schumer explicitly ordered Americans to choose between our livelihoods and our religious beliefs.

“Think of the difference,” Schumer says. “You’re born with a religion or you adopt a religion. You have to obey the precepts of that religion, and the government gives you a wide penumbra. You don’t have to form a corporation.”

Our rights, according to America’s founding documents, don’t come from government, by are inalienable, and come from God.

“We wouldn’t tell the owners of Hobby Lobby,” he continued, “to convert to a different religion or disobey their religion. But we don’t say that they have to open up a company. And go sell toys, or, hobby kits. We don’t have any of them in New York, so I don’t know exactly what they sell.”

His audience chuckled at that.

“But the court took the protection (for individuals, per Schumer’s reckoning) and misapplied it.”

Schumer gets the Obamacare abortifacient mandate wrong, intentionally. It does tell people who object to abortifacients to disobey their religion. It tells the Little Sisters of the Poor to disobey their religion. It tells Catholic business owners to disobey their religion.

In Schumer’s way of thinking, the solution for religious people is obvious: If you don’t want to disobey your religion, refrain from starting a business in America. At all. Ever.

Chuckie is a soulless Godless creature who will say anything to get what he wants which is eternal power for Democrats.

An irony here, is that Chuck Schumer was a sponsor of the Religious Freedom Restoration Act of 1993. That law was the basis for the Supreme Court decision in the Hobby Lobby case.

I think Chuck should explain to us why he supported that law, why he sponsored that law in the first place. If he feels so strongly about all of this, why did he favor a law which sought to explicitly define that we have religious freedoms in our lives?????

You can choose between your religion and earning a living, but you can’t have both. That’s the liberal philosophy.

“... the government gives you a wide penumbra ...”

That in a nutshell is what separates liberals from conservatives. The former thinks religious freedom — and all others — are largesse bestowed on rabble by a beneficent government. Conservatives know that our rights come from God. Rights granted by governments can be taken away by government. Rights granted by God can only be stolen.

Unfortunately, there are millions of people in the once great state of NY who think like Schumer or simply don’t care...

The idea of discriminating against black folks is repugnant to me. But when we decided in the 60’s to make discrimination against blacks a Federal Offense then we set ourselves up for this confrontation between group rights and religious rights.

It was inevitable.

Yeah, but that law was passed to protect the rights and rites of cool people—(Injuns), not low-life Christians.

Yup. These kinds of evils are better, and lastingly, solved by persuasion and PR campaigns.

Also it causes all, both small and great, both rich and poor, both free and slave, to be marked on the right hand or the forehead, so that no one can buy or sell unless he has the mark, that is, the name of the beast or the number of its name. Rev. 13:16-17

Since Chuck Schumer is a non-practicing Jew, he has no right, in telling anybody, anything about how to run a business, or what to call as one’s faith!

In principle yes. Anything. As long as the interest group pushing the matter has enough political clout to force the issue.

So, according to Capo Schumer you can keep your religion if you just keep it to yourself. Unless you are a Muslim, of course.

Muslims don't have to obey such strict Liberal rules. They can use any sort of persecution and murder to spread their religion as they wish. All they have to do is pull the Discrimination Card out and wave it and it is OK.

It doesn't dawn on Smucky that the owners of Hobby Lobby formed their corporation long before the admomination known as Obamacare was inflicted upon the US. And what a totally stupid remark! He doesn't want Americans forming successful businesses that employ thousands?

Is there a more despicable member of Congress than Chucky Smucky? Well, there are a few that give him a real run for the money.

So then Schumer's "solution" is that practicing Christians can't own businesses.

And if they do, what's Schumer's "final solution".
