Mississippi state Sen. Chris McDaniel (R) on Friday accused Secretary of State Delbert Hosemann (R) of deliberately misleading circuit clerks to make it more difficult for his team to review election records as it moves toward challenging the outcome of a June 24 runoff election he lost to Sen. Thad Cochran.
McDaniel said his team has "found over 8,300 questionable ballots cast" and he intends to hold a press conference next Wednesday to discuss his next steps. The Republican called on Hosemann to "clarify" the policy of reviewing election results and claimed he muddled it on purpose.
Under Mississippi state law, the candidates designee has the unfettered right to review unredacted poll books," McDaniel said in a statement. "Sadly, Mr. Hosemanns attorney Kim Turner disseminated inaccurate information which apparently confused some of the Clerks with respect to the ability of candidates and designees to view election records.
McDaniel continued, "It appears the message Delbert Hosemanns office sent to Circuit Clerks was intended to confuse the Clerks so as to prevent full and unfettered access and disclosure of the poll books to our volunteers."

Hoseman needs to get hosed. What a puke
Stupid, corrupt, incompetent, or all three?
The crooks in your own party are more dangerous than the crooks in the other party because they pretend to be the good guys.
So Mr. McDaniel isn’t going gently into that dark night...
The clerks in each county should know the regulations by heart and if not they should be challenged in the next election to unseat them.
Thank goodness with McDaniel there’s finally a fighter instead of the typical Republican that folds like a cheap suit (unless, of course, they’re opposing a conservative). I hope he hangs in there to see this through to the end, however that may play out.
Imagine having this guy in the Senate. Maybe he would punch Schumer of Reid in the nose in the cloakroom. (I can dream, can’t I?)
I have no problem with a “double Posting” on this website, like some folks do. I appreciate them because sometimes I missed the first one. This was posted earlier if you want to read some of the comments it received.
McDaniel said his team has “found over 8,300 questionable ballots cast”
And they have not even gone through half the ballots.
...... he intends to hold a press conference next Wednesday to discuss his next steps.
Can’t wait for that.
This is a guy who will fight for us and not let dems get away with the lies, etc. why does the republican leadership want a senile old geezer for a senator anyway? What is happening to our country? Who are these elected officials? I heard that C is a dem.
Corrupt. Certainly not stupid or incompetent.
Can McDaniel find a judge to order a new election? That’s the only question now.
Hoseman’s poltical career is over.
He would not win dog catcher race.
