Alabama's senior Senator said he is concerned the White House's request for billions of dollars to care for illegal children flooding across America's border may be just the first such request made by the Obama administration.

Shelby spoke to Fox News before Senate hearings related to the growing crisis on the border, where as many as 50,000 young illegal aliens have crossed into the U.S. since October. The children are being detained at U.S. military bases and President Barack Obama is asking for $3.7 billion for housing and increased border security.

Shelby, R-AL, said the government will have to borrow the money and "it won't be the end."

"That's $15,000 for each child that's here. That's a lot of money. We need to send them back as soon as we can," he said. "Today it is 50,000 (children), tomorrow it could be 100,000 and then 700,000."

Shelby said the children, most of them teenagers, are being encouraged to come to the U.S. by their parents.

"We need to be mindful these are children. We have humane thoughts in us. At the same time, we have laws and we ought to enforce the laws," he said.

I’m not saying I would have like Hillary, but the Dems really screwed up when they nominated Zero.

For five and half years, Obama creates a crises or allows them to happen, builds up a big huge GOP straw man in some boiler plate speech, burns it to the ground, and hits the golf course. I feel like I’m living in bizarro land.

With all that said, the GOP really should pass a law where we treat central American kids the same as we treat Mexican and Canada kids. If that gets signed by Obama, I’ll be shocked. On the other hand, if he signs it, perhaps the precedent for step-wise and rational border control will have begun.

Congress could be intelligent and solve this crisis or they can give obama and the democrats what they want. Is simple to solve this crisis. Appropriate money to send these people back to where they came from. obama does things with the stroke of a pen and phone so why not go around him and do similar. Don't even bother to ask for his signature on the law. Pass it in the House and begin removing these people. Is simple ... obama violates the law constantly. Is time for the House to do the same. Circumvent and move ahead. Do the planning in the House. Hold the vote for money to remove the invaders in the House. Tell the Senate to go ______ themselves. (Don't bother with the entire Congress) do the appropriation from the House, declare a Constitutional National Security Crisis from the House floor and vote it up or down and move these invaders out .... Is really that simple if the House has the gonads. Somebody somewhere best have the gonads. This situation is beyond serious.

Simple solution,

Give them the $$$ but attach provisions banning Obama’s defered amnesty program and allowing states like AZ to enforce immigration law.

Does the Media care about this country? It is a feeding frenzy every time a hint of racism takes place. Who made the Media experts on everything under the sun? Most of these so called “cream of the crop” journalists were not educated to concentrate on a particular subject.
