Lisa Myers Agrees With Sharyl Attkisson: Media Less Eager to Hold Obama Admin Accountable

In an NPR interview earlier this week, former NBC News senior investigative correspondent Lisa Myers seemed to agree with former CBS News investigative correspondent Sharyl Attkisson that the media hasn’t covered the Obama administration aggressively enough.

“Overall, the mainstream media has been less eager to hold this administration accountable than the Bush administration,” Myers, who left NBC in January after 33 years, said.

On the issue of investigative reporting on the evening news, she added, “You have to be able to lay out the facts to make the case, and that requires time. And time was an increasingly precious commodity on a network television broadcast. That’s just a reality.”

Time will be a precious resource, not to be squandered on Hillary.

The nightly news was 30 minutes in 1958. Perhaps time is getting shorter due of global warming.

The media are tools of the president. He uses them for his tyrannical purpose like any other big government lib (eg - Stalin, Mao)

Bob Woodward says the same thing: they don’t “have the time” to do investigative journalism the way they did when they hounded Nixon out of office. Do you think they are really that delusional?

Excuse me, but the media found more than enough time to haunt Sarah Palin and her family in Alaska during the 2008 campaign.

Seems to me their job has been amazingly easy. Send a note to the administration asking, “Can we report on ‘blank’? And if so what should we say?”
Easy peasy.

IIRC, Lisa Myers was the only one covering Juanita Broadrick in the 90’s. Anyone who saw that interview KNOWS Clinton is a rapist.

An understatement. The media actively protects the man they elected, and trashes normal people.

Well the NPR lady explains it’s because time went faster in the Obama administration than in the Bush administration. So there was less time to investigate and the news segments were shorter. So they had little time to expose Obama’s scandals by the time they were finished with the important news.

So it wasn’t really their fault. They tried their hardest over and over but ran out of time.

This is the soft-bigotry of low expectations for affirmative action figures!

Nothing else can explain this.

Duh. A statement like that leads one to believe the these people are not even coherent.
