Whatever happened to the Obama administration’s guiding principle never to let a serious crisis go to waste?
Ex-White House chief of staff Rahm Emanuel pronounced this shockingly brazen political principle before a group of Wall Street executives in November 2008.
He said this even before President Obama took office. It was after that historic election, a time when the president was riding high on a wave of good will and political euphoria that few American politicians have ever enjoyed. It was also a time when the president’s party controlled both chambers of Congress and could have approved just about any agenda the White House could dream up.
Mr. Emanuel was, at the time, speaking about the financial crisis that was savaging the stock market, straining unemployment rolls and simultaneously spiking both foreclosed homes and homelessness across the country.
“Things that we had postponed for too long, that were long-term, are now immediate and must be dealt with,” Mr. Emanuel elaborated. “This crisis provides the opportunity for us to do things that you could not do before.” Machiavellian? Sure. But, boy, did that crew talk a big game back then. It really sounded like they knew what they were talking about.
And he struck a bipartisan chord back then that sounds laughable today, knowing now how utterly hollow those words would turn out to be.
“The good news, I suppose, if you want to see a silver lining, is that the problems are big enough that they lend themselves to ideas from both parties for the solution,” Mr. Emanuel cooed.

..... Why do we think this so called "Crisis" is being let to go to waste? It is now looking like this whole thing was planned and manufactured going back at least to 2010. I would say that it is pretty much going according to plan.

I don’t see that he’s letting it go to waste at all. He’s using it as a distraction from the many other crises he has created, he’s using it as a platform for attacking the GOP and various conservative governors (he’s aided and abetted by the press, of course) and is creating chaos.
What more could a community organizer want?

This “crisis” is being used to maximum effect. We are not showing off stuff anymore. This is an actual invasion perpetrated by the Moslem-in Chief. He is intent on bringing down America in his last two years. That is not much time. Thus the invasion, his invasion, of Islam’s greatest enemy by a force that will neutralize America by socializing it and destroying its economy and the resources necessary to fight the continuing onslaught of Islam. Things are going very rapidly now. In two years we will live in a totally different and far poorer Latinized America seriously beset by Jihad from without even as it is awash with socialist hordes from the south.
Red state Americans who can survive in the woods with a buck knife, will survive. It’s the Blue state city dwellers that are going to take the brunt of higher taxes, increased rimes, rapes, etc. they are going to reap what they’ve sown . .
He has not even started on this crisis... It will get a LOT worse, a whole lot worse...
