Obama Says GOP Lawsuit Will Cost Tax Dollars

By Chris Good

In his weekly radio/YouTube address, President Obama derided House Republicans’ planned lawsuit against him, warning that GOP lawmakers will spend taxpayer dollars on a frivolous legal challenge.

“It’s a political stunt that’s going to waste months of America’s time. And by the way, they’re going to pay for it using your hard-earned tax dollars,” Obama said.

House Speaker John Boehner, R-Ohio, has orchestrated the beginnings of a lawsuit against the president over his use of executive authority.

As the White House and the GOP-controlled House have failed to compromise on a slew of issues during Obama’s tenure, the president has repeatedly sought to circumvent political intransigence with unilateral executive action, often accusing Republicans of refusing to compromise. Republicans, in turn, have alleged that Obama is not sincerely interested in working with them and has overreached beyond his authority.

The lawsuit will focus on Obama’s massaging of his signature health care law, the Affordable Care Act. Via executive order, Obama delayed the implementation of its requirement that employers provide health insurance to full-time employees, a key provision. Republicans have asserted that action amounted to re-writing a law without a vote from Congress.

Obama has issued executive orders altering U.S. policy on immigration and other issues, but Republicans have chosen to focus solely on health care. “There are many examples of executive overreach by the president, but his actions on the health care law are the ones that give the House the best chance of success in the courts” states a draft resolution authorizing the lawsuit.

The House Rules Committee will meet Wednesday to consider the resolution authorizing the suit that would be brought by the House’s Bipartisan Legal Advisory Group,...

His blocade of public property, including the monument belonging to WWII vets cost more taxpayer dollars than it cost to simply leave it alone.

He’s a third rate BS artist.

I love when politicians worry about the taxpayers’ money, as if our taxes would be lower if they stopped wasting it.

The way politicians see it, all our money belongs to the government, and they just let us keep some.

"Will cost tax payers."

What is really meant by that?

The 1960s Marxist-Alinsky campus radicals (psycho spoiled brats), et al stirred up many a riot in the 1960s. And they have had control of the Democratic Party since the 1970s.

If they were willing to inflict death and destruction in response to an election (2000 Florida Gore - Bush) they will definitely do it in repsonse to protect one of their own occupying the White House..

Frum's "Gore Speaks" 19 Nov., 2002 column However it appears that NR has deleted/moved the column. Here's another source.

KARENNA GORE: [Ms Gore describes the "right wing" crowd outside screaming things like "get out of Vice President Cheney's house"] And my whole attitude was, like, "We've got to fight back harder. And where are our crowds?" And my dad, I'll never forget his response. He said, "We have to do what's best for the country, and it is not good for the country to have this kind of divisiveness.["] And he was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the … the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest. And he was on the phone asking them not to, because of what was best for the country not because of what was best for him politically. And that's really who he is.

[Al Gore] was on the phone, really calling off the dogs. There were people who wanted to fan the … the flames of the racial issue and have real unrest. And he was on the phone asking them not to . . . .

Yes and we can’t have the Republicans spending our tax dollars when he needs them to spend on illegals, and terrorists, and vacations.

So? To truly rid this country of this present tyranny and restore liberty will likely cost American lives. It's happened before for much less cause.

I believe he is concerned about the possible suit. He has no concern for wasting tax payer money.

I think he is all BS, he backed down in the Bundy case in Nevada and now he backed down to the people in Marieta, CA. (good for them). I think I am seeing a pattern here.

So what’s Obama’s problem? Is he worried he might have to cut back on vacation expenses?

The lawsuit against him will cost money. Sure! Just like all the “free” crap he has spend our tax dollars on for the last five years.

Hmmm...looks like the lawsuit has merit after all. Obama seems worried by it.
