Sirens sounded in the Tel Aviv area on Friday morning at approximately 10:45 a.m., in what Hamas claims to be its first attack targeting the Ben Gurion International Airport.
The Iron Dome anti-missile defense system shot down three rockets over the Tel Aviv area, according to the IDF Spokesperson's Office.
However, shrapnel from the intercepted rockets has fallen in multiple places throughout the Tel Aviv metropolitan area, including one near a gas station; no injuries or damage have been reported.
Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack, boasting that this is the first time they have specifically targeted Ben Gurion Airport, according to Yedioth Aharonoth. The terror group claimed to have shot four domestically produced M-75 rockets at the airport.
"We are sending a message to all foreign airlines operating flights into the Zionist entity, asking them to stop flying into the entity because of the dangers surrounding all the airports due to the ongoing war," it said in a statement, according to AFP.
All flights stopped for a ten-minute period during the rocket fire; as of 11:20 am, there are no plans to close the airport despite the security situation.
Hamas has focused its rocket fire heavily on Israel's most populated areas, having fired at Tel Aviv every day since Tuesday. Twelve rockets were fired at the Gush Dan area on Thursday alone.
The "code red" alert sounded in Herzliya, Tel Aviv, Rishon LeTzion, Bnei Brak, Givat Shmuel, Lod, Ben Gurion Airport, Holon, Kfar Chabad, and most of the Gush Dan area.

How many more Arrow, or whatever missiles Iron Dome uses does Israel have left? Isn’t this entire exercise an Iranian design to deplete them, and then have Obama hold up reinforcements? I wouldn’t put it past the Mullahs, and their ally Valerie Jarrett.
Time to exterminate the vermin without mercy. Human shields? Too bad.
A couple of thoughts. Apparently Hillary wanted to take out Khadafy on the cheap. She was complicit in sending thousands of shoulder launched anti-air weapons to the opposition. I suspect that will come back to do some serious butt biting. We have yet to see a civilian airliner downed by one, but that’s probably because they’ve made their way to actual warzones. But when the war’s over then we’ll see them in droves.
Also, perhaps Israel’s war has been to clean. If the civilians knew they’d be plastered each time something was launched from their neighborhood perhaps they’d try to stop it.
A good point—force Israel to use up all their rockets—then hit them with anpother barrage all the while the UN calls for a ceast fire and points at all the dead children Israel has murdered by their counter attacks. Using compassion as a weapon.
I'd say Israel is getting ready to hamper Gaza flat.

The prayers of this Catholic are with you for your people and your country. Why in the world Israel isn’t allowed to wipe the stain of Hamas and radical Islam off the Earth is beyond me. Sixty-five years of living within distance of a bunker or shelter and listening for sirens would drive any people insane. But to the credit of your people and to the consternation of the enemies of Israel the Jewish people refuse to die. Sixty-nine years ago when the camps were discovered and the world gasped in horror the cry was “Never Again!’’. Looks to me like “Never Again’’ is happening again.

Israel has only used about a hundred, at least by my estimate.

I am sure this is an overstatement of the sandmaggot capabilities.
It's wise of Israel to never disclose how close they came, because these rockets are so "approximately" aimed, that it's a miracle they get within 5 miles of their intended target. These are NOT guided missiles; they are simply long range dumb rockets, produced by not the brightest bulbs in the immediate area.
