German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Russian President Vladimir Putin, meeting briefly on Sunday before the World Cup soccer final in Brazil, called for a stepping-up of peace efforts in Ukraine, Putin's spokesman said. The pair have been in regular telephone contact over the Ukraine crisis, with Merkel urging Putin to use his influence with pro-Russian separatists to help bring about an end to fighting in the east of the former Soviet republic in which hundreds of people have been killed.

Merkel knows what'[s going on. Pretty obvious, she doesn't trust Obama one damn bit.

Pretty noticeable...he didn't go to the games....but sent his foot maiden...Biden.

Better root against Germany in the soccer game. If they win Merkel and Putin will be partying all night.

Something I wasn’t aware of:

Even as the World Cup wraps up on today in Rio de Janiero, preparations are well under way for the next tournament, which Russia will host in 2018. President Vladimir Putin will be on hand for the final match between Germany and Argentina to ...

A good start would be for Putin to get his invasion force out of Ukraine and to stop killing Ukrainians in eastern Ukraine.

Obama?

Obama has not invaded Ukraine, Putin has!

Gog and Magog (Putin and Russia) have aligned themselves with the Muslims against Israel. Obama is Russian Manchurian President.

pretty noticeable...he (Obama) didn't go to the games

How could he? He just refused to go to our southern border to see the crisis for himself.

Obama must be fuming that Putin and Merkel used that opportunity to meet, while he's eating barbecue in TX or whatever. I love it when Obama is so irrelevant.
