Army Sgt. Bowe Bergdahl has finished undergoing therapy and counseling at an Army hospital in San Antonio and could return to active duty as early as Monday, a defense official tells CNN.
Some critics of the swap have said Bergdahl was a deserter who endangered colleagues searching for him.
An Army fact-finding investigation conducted in the months after his disappearance concluded he left his outpost deliberately and of his own free will, according to an official who was briefed on the report.
But there was no definitive conclusion Bergdahl was a deserter because that would require knowing his intent, something officials couldn't learn without talking to him, a U.S. military official has said.

My guess is that he will be processed for discharge the day after he returns to active duty. With accumulated leave he will probably never actually return to active duty. If his ‘capture’ is considered valid service time then he will get a very large payout from the Army for accumulated pay and leave.

Nah, no hero’s welcome for this action. The ‘Progressives’ would only consider him a real hero had he ‘fracked’ his superiors.
It is important for the Administrations to maintain the narrative that Bergdahl served honorably.

I’ve read numbers from 300,000 to 600,000. I don’t know how the latter makes sense unless they’re adding some kind of COLA for an Afghani Nomad Tent.
Bergdahl is a weapon of contention and the Trojan horse in charge, along with the party that rode him to power, live to use weapons like Bergdahl against US, especially against our military.
In this world, we are all food for something and those who feed upon the emotions of others will savor the reactions to Bergdahl's being returned to active duty.
Actually, my concern was that this traitor will go Jihad on other soldiers, not that they’ll code red his butt.
They have had sufficient time to do a thorough and complete investigation. However, they have failed to do so as evidenced by the fact that the members of his unit at the time of desertion have not been interviewed. Sounds like more WH hanky-panky going on.
I still believe they’re going to say he was on a special undercover mission.
They’ll say he had a tracking device up his butt. I don’t put anything past them.

Just so everyone knows - for them to start any UCMJ procedures (ie courts-martial) he has to be returned to active duty first. Not saying this is what they are doing, just a fact.
Yep. Non Judicial punishment. Reduction in pay grade from Sgt. to PFC and a $5,000 fine. That means he goes back to where he was in rank and gets oodles of back pay at sergeant’s pay.
