60% Don’t Think Washington Redskins Should Change Their Name
Rasmussen Reports ^ | June 24, 2014

The Washington Redskins professional football team is under growing pressure from Native American activists and politicians from President Obama on down to change its name. Last week, the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in a two-to-one vote canceled the team’s trademark on the grounds that it is “disparaging to Native Americans.” But most Americans nationwide agree with the team's owner Daniel Snyder that a name change is not necessary, and those who follow pro football the most are even more opposed.

A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that only 26% of American Adults believe the Washington Redskins should change their name in light of complaints that it is offensive. Sixty percent (60%) don’t think the team should change its name. Fourteen percent (14%) are undecided.

Actually I hope that Rats focus all their attention on this issue, since the rest of their agenda is even more destructive and since their Redskins obsessions makes them look ridiculous. Harry Reid has pontificated about the Redskins name. By law, isn't the Senate supposed to pass a budget each year? When did it last do so?

Hmm. MUCH less than I expected. I don’t like that.

They won’t. It’s just a minor upheaval.

I used to care. Now I don’t. There are much bigger problems. The Cleveland Indians are quietly phasing out Chief Wahoo, and I suspect soon they will have another name.

If Americans wish to tolerate this kind of foolishness, I can’t make them understand what the left is doing.

That number is a lot higher among the Native Americans. I saw a very cool decal on a pickup the other day being driven by a Navajo guy. “Redskin Nation” using “the Skins’” colors and font. Very cool.

“Hmm. MUCH less than I expected. I don’t like that.”

Don’t worry they’ll crank up the propaganda and by this time next year the sheeples will have come around to their point of view. Look how quickly the opinion on same sex marriage and all things homosexual has changed.

Unlike us these guys are relentless and well organized and have a full time army whose sole and full time job is to take over all social institutions. They’re in the mop up phase now.

When the time comes for a name change, I hope the owner go with the “Washington Marxists” or simply the “Washington Reds”.

They will hammer away at this til they get their way, just as they did in their far more harmful campaign to destroy marriage and family.

Change it to the Washington Red Necks. See if there is any outrage over that racial slur.

“Native Americans”? Do you mean Indians? ‘Cause I was born in Virginia and am certainly a native American.

I wonder what Elizabeth Warren thinks of this issue?

Yeah, I see your point. However, the reason I do care is because these people are pushing their anti-American agenda upon us. True, this issue is not as big as the border issue but it is part of the whole plan. People who take a huge part of their days to fight things like the Redskin Logo or Chief Wahoo, I dedicate this song to them, Styx's 1981 hit, "Too Much Time On My Hands." If these people take as much time working, finding a job, honing a talent, or even just taking a little bit of hat time and relax, they'd be much better for it.

I remember some Indian group came out with the logo, "The Fighting Whities" and I'm not offended, heck, I'm proud.

As I get older, I don't care, if someone of this ilk bugs me and says, "you're a racist," I just say back, "Yeap I am," and move on in a who care's attitude since they want attention.

I think Elizabeth Warren offends Native Americans, more than the Washington Redskins.

Yeah, pretty soon they will be telling us to boycott all stores that sell Redskin potatoes.
