Barone: Political fallout from border crisis growing
americanthinker.com ^ | 7/14/14 | Rick Moran

Ace political analyst Michael Barone scans the political landscape and thinks that the fallout from the border crisis will be severe and will hit Democrats especially hard.

The picture of thousands of illegal youngsters streaming over the border is disquieting and seems likely to hurt the president's standing with voters--even despite his refusal to submit to a “photo-op” on the border. Democrats are trying to blame the situation on House Republicans' refusal to pass comprehensive immigration legislation. That seems pretty lame: There's nothing in the bill the Senate passed in June 2013 that addressed this particular situation. As this article in the Hill makes plain, perhaps despite the writer's intention, this is a troublesome situation for Democrats whose names are on the ballot this fall.

And the negative fallout is apparently not limited geographically. The national media may get tired of stories about young illegals crossing the border in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. But as these youngsters are sent to places as distant as Chicago and Lynn, Mass., other troublesome stories are likely to emerge, on local newscasts (which are often starved for news) if not on Obama-protective mainstream media.

I am convinced this wave of illegal children was organized and carried out in order to force amnesty down the throats of the American people.

Black community favored BO 83%. Last week.

I don't for a moment believe 17% will vote Republican in 2014.

You hit the nail on the head in post #3.

It seems to me that many conservatives feel the need to distance themselves from charges of racism or insensitivity about illegal aliens by following up condemnation of it with a statement such as “LEGAL immigration is fine.”

The problem with that is it gives the no-borders crowd all they need to simply do away with any sort of conditions, or pre-conditions, to immigration. As you say — if everyone is “legal”, no one can be “illegal”. I would also argue that as a nation, we simply do not need to open the door to immigrants as we did in the past, except under the very narrowest of exceptions.

The 17% didn’t understand the question.

If the Republicans had any street smarts they would play the “central Americans are coming to steal your welfare benefits, your jobs and your gang turf goes to MS-13” to the Blacks and the Mexicans , legal and illegal, who are already here.

The EBT spongers and the illegals already know the B.S . being spread by the media is bogus ‘cause they are already scamming the system and they know that the whole illegal invasion is a scam.

All they really need to be told is how bad it will be for them.

The Republicans should give Obama the 3.7 Billion dollars he wants and take it directly from existing EBT cards of the existing welfare recipients. ngs up

That will shake things up.

And they’ll rig the elections when they can. In ten years, when they get them voting, it won’t matter anyway.

Of course it was organized. And drug cartels are one of the players in this demented plot.

It’s a great idea.

Let the welfare class know that there is a finite amount of Obama bucks and any new illegals that enter the country are going to competition for the money that goes into their EBT cards, access to cheap section 8 housing (Obama is pushing the illegals to the front of the line for free Section 8 and Obama is letting the illegals cut in to the front of the line in front of long wait listed Black Americans and both legal and illegal Hispanics), free medical care, positions in good schools (Obama is spreading the illegals to nice middle class suburban schools while Blacks are stuck in hell hole ghetto schools) and Obama is paying for their travel and relocation costs as well as paying astronomical sums for top flight $500/hr immigration lawyers to represent these illegals so they don’t get deported while Blacks get stuck with over worked, marginally competent public defenders when they get in trouble with the law.

These new invaders are not fellow brethren proletariats, they are welfare funding competitors who dilute the available pool of welfare dollars for existing EBT dependents and even worse, this new tsunami of illegals has been manufactured by the Obama Administration to overwhelm and collapse the welfare system that many Black Americans and Hispanics (and white people too, BTW) are TOTALLY and COMPLETELY dependent upon for their basic day to day survival

Existing welfare recipients have a major vested interest in the continued viability of the American welfare safety net.

When Obama crashes the system, which Obama is doing intentionally regardless of how irrational it seems that he should do so, and subsequently destroys the welfare safety net , existing welfare recipients are going to totally and completely screwed.

The human misery and economic devastation Obama is creating will make the pictures from the Great Depression look like Daddy Warbucks skipping down the Wall Street boardwalk in comparison.

Democrats want voters, of course and many of these children are older teens so will be able to vote soon. Ultimate goal I think is to trash our country.

Yes and every female over the age of 12 is probably pregnant with an anchor baby, the ticket for a lifetime of welfare in gringoland.

“I don’t for a moment believe 17% will vote Republican in 2014. “

All they need to do is stay home. And maybe, by then, there will be a few percentage points more, as well.
