Barone: Political fallout from border crisis growing
americanthinker.com ^ | 7/14/14 | Rick Moran

Ace political analyst Michael Barone scans the political landscape and thinks that the fallout from the border crisis will be severe and will hit Democrats especially hard.

The picture of thousands of illegal youngsters streaming over the border is disquieting and seems likely to hurt the president's standing with voters--even despite his refusal to submit to a “photo-op” on the border. Democrats are trying to blame the situation on House Republicans' refusal to pass comprehensive immigration legislation. That seems pretty lame: There's nothing in the bill the Senate passed in June 2013 that addressed this particular situation. As this article in the Hill makes plain, perhaps despite the writer's intention, this is a troublesome situation for Democrats whose names are on the ballot this fall.

And the negative fallout is apparently not limited geographically. The national media may get tired of stories about young illegals crossing the border in the Lower Rio Grande Valley. But as these youngsters are sent to places as distant as Chicago and Lynn, Mass., other troublesome stories are likely to emerge, on local newscasts (which are often starved for news) if not on Obama-protective mainstream media.

"Bottom line: The issue is depressing Democrats and angering everyone else. That's a deadly combination for November."

"Democrats are trying to blame the situation on House Republicans' refusal to pass comprehensive immigration legislation."

"Comprehensive Immigration Legislation" = "Amnesty for All".

Amnesty = No more "illegals"

No more "illegals" = no more problem.

I do think though, (I could be wrong) that most GOP politicians got the message after Cantor was defeated.

Kinda like Sonny Corleone receiving Luca Brasi’s bullet proof vest with the dead fish wrapped inside.

“It appears to me that all of the Dems and the majority of the GOP simply do not care.

They are all bought and paid for by people who want this to occur.”

Yep. They’ll take their lumps at the ballot box, because if they carry out their master’s orders, they’ll be rewarded.

From the political elite to their money masters, not a one of the sob’s give a rat’s patootie about what happens to America and Americans.

I think Barone is right. Low information voters who usually tune out Washington news are getting pissed about this.

It will hit the Democrats hard? How, when this illegal alien invasion is the largest Democrat recruitment drive ever to have happened in United States history?

The outcome of this "crisis" is the expansion of the Democrat party by a factor insurrmountable by LEGAL CITIZENS who are Republican voters!

This operation should land Obama in prison. The secret importations of illegal aliens in large groups to secret U.S. destinations WITHOUT DISCLOSURE TO CONGRESSMAN, GOVERNORS, ETC., should result in cuffs on Obama. This exercise is undoubtedly a clear violaton of Obama's Oath of Office.

Barone is too old-school to understand
a new reality: voters can’t be bothered
to figure out what’s happening.

Therefore, insofar as any of these
ninnies pay attention, the media
will make conservatives’ racism
to blame. This will succeed.

? “They are all bought and paid for by people who want this to occur.”

I know the standard line is that the GOP want illegals for cheap labor but unless we are going to force these kids to work for their welfare the cheap labor aspect is a long time coming
and in the meantime this eats up a lot of our money which is NOT something the GOP is for

The bad news is that the GOP, in the Senate especially, is just as bad as the dems.

The Black community is up in arms because they believe this administration is favoring illegal Hispanics over them. They voted for Obama because they believed he’d do things for them. Six years later and in their minds, nothing’s happened. Blacks and Hispanics have always disliked each other, and what is happening with immigration now, and the favors the illegals are getting from the government, is only going to make that animosity worse. What’s coming ain’t going to be pretty.

It will hit the Democrats hard this November - their long term plan of recruiting new voters will not be fleshed out by then.

How? Because their current ‘base’ is mostly on welfare or a government teat somewhere, somehow. And even they know you need to grow the ‘pie’ before you can add more eaters to the pie. Otherwise everyone currently ‘eating’ will by necessity get a smaller piece.

I know that a lot of working stiffs denigrate the people on welfare. Let me tell you, they know to the ‘penny’ what they are supposed to get and exactly when they are supposed to get it. And if they get short-changed by the government there will be hell to pay.

To educate voters, include relevant information on key issues in the next iteration of “Clash of Clans.”
