Report: Cochran Lawyer Went To Mayor First With Information About Blogger
Breitbart ^ | July 14, 2014 | Charlie Spiering

Posted on 07/14/2014 4:11:20 PM PDT by Hostage

Sen. Thad Cochran's (R-MS) lawyer initially brought information about a blogger photographing Cochran's wife at her retirement home to the mayor of Madison, Mississippi, not police, according to The New York Times.

The Times' story is about Tea Party leader Mark Mayfield, who was arrested in connection with the blogger break-in incident and later committed suicide three days after Cochran won the runoff election against state Senator Chris McDaniel.

In one of the most notorious episodes in what is widely considered the most ugly and bitter primary battle in the election cylce, a crazed blogger snuck into Cochran's wife's retirement home to photograph her, an image of which he used in a video designed to fuel rumors that Cochran was carrying on an affair with his longtime executive assistant.

But in the months since the incident and the subsequent arrests of the blogger, Mayfield and several others alleged to have conspired with him, a key question, raised by McDaniel and others, has remained unanswered: why did Cochran wait nearly three weeks after learning about the incident before contacting the authorities?

The people that planned the nursing home photo/video are dimwits. They are not 'crazed', they are just not too sharp. If you have them as neighbors you would think they just good old boys with an ambition to get in the game. But they were ill-prepared and not astute.

McDaniel had nothing to do with the nursing home incident.

Mark Mayfield was innocent of the crime he was charged with and which caused his death.

The Madison Police Department is a rogue operation with blood on their hands.

Madison Mayor Butler is a hack with blood on her hands.

The NRSC has blood on their hands.

All Cochran donors in the Senate have blood on their hands. (See 'Thad Cochran's Enablers')

To the question of why Cochran waited nearly three weeks after learning about the incident before contacting the authorities, the answer is clear:

The original negative hit that McDaniel took after the news broke about the nursing home incident quickly dissipated as voters saw that McDaniel was not connected and then McDaniel's popularity ratings began soaring.

In order to get the McDaniel back in the negative pinch and on the defensive again, Cochran and his attorney coordinated a hit with the Mayor of Madison who was a Cochran supporter on an innocent tea party activist Mark Mayfield. Mark Mayfield's blood is on their hands.

This is one of the ugliest political races I’ve ever seen. Just continues to get uglier the more we see.

I wonder how many of the MS SC justices were appointed by Barbour?

Good analysis, the only thing I disagree with is that Cochran didn’t go to the mayor, it was either his staff or campaign, I doubt he has made any decisions in a long time. I also believe Kay Webber is Senator Cochran’s personal handler/nurse to see him through the day and on trips. Probably paid in some way for her influence by BGR.

Actually the report says Cochran himself with his lawyer went to the Mayor of Madison who is a longtime support of Cochran.

I agree the whole affair with Cochran’s wife and Kay Webber as ‘mistress’ is a dimwitted attempt at scandalizing Cochran. And Cochran showed restraint as the initial reaction among the voters was negative to McDaniel until he was able to make his case that he had nothing to do with that attempt at scandal. It was McDaniel that called the dimwits behind the scandal and read them the riot act. The result was the video was pulled within hours of it being posted.

But the problem is not with the scandal-nonscandal. The problem was Cochran’s response following McDaniel’s primary win.

Cochran decided to hit back by leaning on his longtime supporter in Mayor Butler. Mayor Butler had her police department carry out an awful travesty of justice causing an innocent man to lose his livelihood and standing, and end his life as a result of Cochran’s knuckleheads. And I believe Cochran and his attorney are the Chief Knuckleheads along with the NRSC. They conspired against an innocent tea party supporter close to McDaniel to grind him to his death.

I think this story should be national news.

Don’t know but she’s a strong Cochran supporter. Nothing wrong with that but she allowed her town and its police department to be used as a tool in rogue fashion by Cochran and his attorney.

Rather than initiate an investigation being careful to treat people as innocent until proven guilty, she had them launch a brutal assault against people, one of whom was completely innocent and not even involved and who was paraded around as an enemy of the state of the highest order, and who was shown in Cochran ads in cuffs as a felon. The result was this man, a well-respected lawyer, Christian, family man and pillar of his community, lost his standing and his livelihood and was found dead of a gun wound.

Not only that, this man did not even reside in the town of Madison where Mayor Butler’s police had so brutally mistreated him. He resided in the town of Ridgeland. And, the Madison PD on the day of his death, four of their officers went outside the limits of the town of Madison, to ‘confirm’ he was dead. They had no business doing that as the investigation jurisdiction was with the Ridgeland PD.

My point was I believe someone other than Cochran made the decision to talk to the Mayor instead of the police and apparently decided his lawyer should take him. I don’t believe Thad is capable of rational decisions and his handlers know it.

It was reported that he, Cochran and his attorney were on the conference call with the Mayor.

Cochran is not so far gone yet.

Did he say anything other than “this is thad”? I’m probably hung up on the “farm animal” quote and the pro “obamacare” interview that his handlers later claimed he was talking about the VA. They didn’t let him out before the primary, then they let him speak and after the first two exposures they locked him back up and went after the runoff the democrat way. I still believe he’s being handled and managed.

It could be so. But so far it’s not provable and therefore not important.

The name or word ‘Cochran’ represents the political infrastructure of MS and links to the Barbour gang.

‘Cochran’ means more than just Thad.

“The name or word ‘Cochran’ represents the political infrastructure of MS and links to the Barbour gang.”

It really does, but don’t forget the NRC and NRSC.

I was just thinking.

Mark Mayfield was completely innocent of any wrongdoing in this affair of Rose Cochran, yet his whole life was destroyed and led to his death starting with that conference call by Thad Cochran, his lawyer and the Mayor of Madison (longtime supporter of Cochran).

Mark Mayfield was assaulted and brutalized because he was a prominent and capable tea party organizer and he was close to Chris McDaniel.

I was thinking that if the Mayfield family files a wrongful death lawsuit (and they have said they will be filing a lawsuit), this could lead to Cochran himself, regardless of his rumored dementia. And it will also lead to the communications director of the NRSC who hounded Mark until his dying day with unfounded statements that Mark was a felon who needed to be jailed.

So the observation that Thad Cochran was in on that phone call is serious, quote serious.
