Egypt launched an initiative on Monday to halt fighting between Israel and Palestinian militants, proposing a ceasefire to be followed by talks in Cairo on settling the conflict in which Gaza authorities say more than 170 people have died.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will convene his decision-making security cabinet on Tuesday to discuss the proposal on the Gaza violence, an Israeli official said.

Two members of Netanyahu's security cabinet suggested a truce might be in the works. "There are contacts all the time," Communications Minister Gilad Erdan said when asked about the possibility of Kerry visiting Cairo.

Double Obie slap down...
Make Saudi Arabia responsible for Gaza.
I don’t see any country in the world wanting to take responsibility for Gaza INCLUDING ISRAEL ... :-) ...
Then bulldoze the place and turn it into the Mediterranean Resort/Garden of Eden (solar desalination watered) that it deserves to be.
The only desirable "halt to the conflict" is when Gaza cries "uncle".
Anything else is just a hoax.
Now ... Israel’s enemies CONSTANTLY LIE and claim that Israel targets Palestinian civilians and tries to move them out and/or kill them so that they can take over that land for themselves - but, as pointed out, it’s ALL LIES.
Israel denies that, their actions deny that and the extent that they go to to avoid collateral damage when striking Hamas denies that.
SO ... it’s very clear that Israel is going to do no such thing ... :-) ...
You can be assured that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is not going to quit until his objectives have been met. Netanyahu is the longest serving Prime Minister in Israeli history, and for good reason.
