Dozens of Disney workers arrested over sex with minors
The Telegraph (UK) ^ | 15 Jul 2014 | Nick Allen

Posted on 07/15/2014 7:50:51 PM PDT by Salman

At least 35 Disney employees in Florida have been arrested for alleged child sex offences in the last eight years, according to an investigation by CNN.

None of the offences involved children or teenagers visiting Walt Disney World in Orlando but were allegedly committed by men who worked there.

The crimes involved offences including trying to meet a minor for sex and possession of child pornography.

Five employees at a Universal Studios theme park in Florida, and two at Sea World in Florida, have also been arrested during that time, CNN reported after examining police and court records.

Of the total 42 arrests 32 men have so far been convicted, eight were found not guilty and two have yet to enter pleas.

Be careful how much smiting you ask for, because you might get smitten.

not trying to minimize any of this but you do realize that Disneyworld employs about 55,000 people? 1 is obviously too many but 32 out of 55,000? I wonder how that compares to the incidence of such crimes in the general population.

I like to have some fun here with Rand’s populist jive occasionally.

He’s an interesting character. Always curious what he will try next.

To: Diana in Wisconsin; Right Brother
We do not preach only one coming of Christ, but a second as well, much more glorious than the first. The first coming was marked by patience; the second will bring the crown of a divine kingdom...

At the first coming he was wrapped in swaddling clothes in a manger. At his second coming he will be clothed in light as in a garment. In the first coming he endured the cross, despising the shame; in the second coming he will be in glory, escorted by an army of angels.

We look then beyond the first coming and await the second. At the first coming we said: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord. At the second we shall say it again; we shall go out with the angels to meet the Lord and cry out in adoration: Blessed is he who comes in the name of the Lord.

The Saviour will not come to be judged again, but to judge those by whom he was judged. At his own judgement he was silent; then he will address those who committed the outrages against him when they crucified him and will remind them: You did these things, and I was silent.

His first coming was to fulfil his plan of love, to teach men by gentle persuasion. This time, whether men like it or not, they will be subjects of his kingdom by necessity.

Whatever you can say about populist, it’s probably a better idea than elitist, in this particular situation.

The trouble is that elites find it way too easy to get the worship of the people.

I agree, CC. Further, the article states that over the eight-year period Disney employed a total of 300,000.

Also it quotes Ernie Allen, president of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children: “It’s hard to imagine any company (Disney) that’s done more, that cares more, that’s trying harder on these issues, and part of the reason is Disney recognises that it’s a magnet, it’s a magnet that is sort of America’s symbol for children.”

2 Disney tolerates sexual deviancy.

1931 Mickey Mouse cartoon

In 1920s slang, a cream-puff inhaler was a straight guy who slummed with homosexuals, which Mickey is accusing Kat Nipp of being. Kat Nipp is a villain whom Mickey hadn’t met at this point in the story—he guessed the homosexual guy might be him.

The reprint of the 1931 cartoon, colorized and cleaned up some, appeared in a Boom! Mickey Mouse Classics hardcover volume in 2010. In the rewrite, a cake-eater was a guy who flirted with unattractive women so that he could mooch money or food (i.e. cake) off of them.

1996 – The American Family Association (AFA) announced a boycott against the Walt Disney Company (WDC), which the Southern Baptist Convention (SBC) joined, when WDC began giving benefits to homosexual employees in domestic partnerships. The AFA claimed Michael Eisner, CEO of the WDC from 1984-2005, "was involved in a media group that actively promoted the homosexual agenda" and was pushing the "gay agenda". Prior to Eisner coming on board, The WDC. had a strong brand image of family wholesomeness. Eisner brought in homosexualist Jeffrey Katzenburg as his 2nd in command. Eisner also produced adult-themed/R-rated films under the new Miramax label. The AFA and SBC ended the 9-year boycott in spring 2005 after Eisner left the company.

2/01/2013 – George Kalogridis became the 1st openly homosexual president of Walt Disney World Resort, where he’ll oversee ~ 66,000 employees. Kalogridis began working at Disney World back in 1971, busing tables; then 17, he was hired before the park’s official opening. Now 59, Kalogridis has put in time as President of Disneyland in Anaheim, CA and Chief Operating Officer of Disneyland Resort Paris. Disney World is the world’s most-visited entertainment resort, featuring 4 theme parks, 2 water parks, 24,000 hotel rooms, 3,000 time-share suites, a 120-acre retail complex and a 230-acre sports campus. Kalogridis plans to make Disney World his home, both literally and figuratively. He and his partner of 12 years, Andy Hardy, are building their own little castle in Golden Oak, the luxury subdivision that Disney World is developing on the northeastern corner of its 40-square mile property.

Today, the WDC owns ABC. ABC’s cable channel, ABC Family, is not family wholesomeness. Included in its broadcast line-up are at least 4 shows with LGBT characters.

Here are some facts folks need to keep in mind with regard to this article.

Not one of these 35 people were arrested for committing a sex act on Disney property.

Disney world employes over 65,000 ‘cast members’.

The 35 people were arrested over an eight year period. That’s a little over 4 per year out of those 65,000 employees.

Knowing how employees roll in and out of jobs, over this eight years Disney probably employed over 100,000 if not hundreds of thousands of different people for those positions.

I think it’s remarkable that there weren’t far more problems than this, and I think it’s a credit to Disney for screening their people pretty good.

CNN is a scrounge organization. This is yellow journalism at it’s very worst.

I disagree with a number of Disney decisions, and I think they are fair game on some issues. This isn’t one of them, and CNN’s brash headline is despicable.

“The 35 people were arrested over an eight year period. That’s a little over 4 per year out of those 65,000 employees.”

That is, perhaps, a relatively small number but who cares? It’s too many. When you promote non-normative behavior among, not only, your guests but your employees; you deserve whatever opprobrium comes your way!

Please keep in mind these were people with no criminal record and good job performance evaluations at work. How would Disney have any way of knowing what was on their computer at home, or what they were doing in their spare time?

Frankly, I care. I care because CNN’s headline made it seem that taking children to Disney’s parks could be problematic, when no such situation existed at all.

And if as you say Disney is promoting non-normative behavior, where’s the evidence of it’s employees exhibiting that behavior in the park?

I can see you being upset at some things Disney has done, but those shouldn’t be confused with this issue which was essentially a false report about a danger with Disney employees. It was unsubstantiated sensationalism. It was very despicable of CNN to do this.

Let’s see Disney is a rival of CNN’s parent company...

Somebody needs to start running background checks on reporters, editors, producers and anchors.

THAT would be interesting.

I agree. And it occurred to me as well. Over the years we’ve seen some pretty colorful characters in the ranks of the MSM press.
