No aspect of these programs will change until those self-proclaimed patriots and ‘conservatives’, the FARMERS of Iowa, Illinois, Nebraska, Kansas are willing to forego their multimillion dollar subsidies.

Barring eliminating welfare altogether, yours is probably the best idea. Much easier than trying to program cards and items to ID which are allowable.

Like the kid carts with video games, they will break down within 6 mos.

A lot of homeless people do not have access to kitchens to prepare proper meals.

I see another doll is on the way. That should be worth another $40 or so in monthly food stamps. Plus she can enroll the kid in WIC.

But that dollie is gonna be disappointed at the check out. The Mac & Cheese is the only item that qualifies for food stamps.

Of course, if she's enrolled in FI she can get a monthly stipend (e-pay card) to spend pretty much any way she wants. (Note: FI is a state program. That link goes to South Carolina's program.) FI money can be spent on cigarettes, liquor, just about anything.

Any food cart that starts to talk to me will be left in the aisle, & I’ll never shop at that store again.

It won't be a free choice by that store. Count on that. But more to the point: How does the cart know that somebody will use food stamps... Later... To check out?

This is really easy.
Food stamps should work on only four aisles in the grocery store

1. The Fresh fruit and Produce section
2. The meat counter (Not the deli counter)
3. The dairy aisle (Milk, cheese, eggs and even items like cream and yogurt)
4. Household wares (detergents, soap, shampoo)

No canned goods
No frozen goods
No bread
No beer or booze
No diapers
So soda
No tobacco
No processed food

If you want starch in your diet then buy a bag of potatoes
If you want pasta then buy a bag it only cost about $1.00. If you want bread then buy it, and the same with tea, sugar, spices and cans of Spaghetti O’s

If you want to eat processed food then get a job and buy it with your own money. I don’t care what you eat if I don’t have to pay for it.

Just cook the meals yourself. (That is even a job skill)

This would cut out huge amounts of EBT fraud and encourage the “poor” (Really lazy) to eat better

Simple solution, just restrict food stamps to healthy foods. The WIC program has done this for years. I have seen EBT cards (food stamps) being used to purchase steaks, crab legs, soda, bottled water, chips and other junk food. However most disgusting was watching a man purchasing a $9 bottle of cheap whiskey with cash and then using his EBT card to buy a 99 cent bottle of soda to mix with it.

Methinks those carts will be vandalized in record time.

I can’t stand the motion sensing tv screens at the end of aisles that start talking to me when I walk by. If a cart talks to me, I’m bringing a hammer....

How will the shopping cart know if I’m on food stamps or not?

Or maybe they are assuming we will all be on food stamps pretty darn soon?

Maybe there will be a row of carts under a sign that says “EBT shoppers!”
And then a row of regular carts.
And then the EBT gang will certainly grab those annoying chatty carts right?
