Houston mothers outraged at the cost of caring for undocumented children
KHOU 11 News ^ | July 16, 2014 | by Marcelino Benito

HOUSTON -- The immigration crisis is touching nerves in every pocket of America. That includes the city of Houston.

"Don't bring them here," said Bernadette Lancelin. "We don't have anything for them. They've taken too much already from my kids."

Lancelin sounded off when she learned officials had been touring a vacant Houston school a possible site to house immigrant children. Mayor Annise Parker tackled questions on the situation Wednesday.

"We have not been asked by the federal government to provide housing for immigrant children," said Parker. "Terrell Elementary School could be repurposed but at this point, it's not the preferred solution."

So what is the preferred solution for the flood of children flocking to the United States? So far no one has the answer. Lawmakers briefed Wednesday learned it costs the government $200 per day, per child and the tab keeps growing.

"It’s a figure that I thought was shocking and in the whole room you heard the murmuring and shock of the costs associated with this," said Senator Marco Rubio.

"Ultimately, there have to be some consequences associated with coming into this country," said Senator John Cornyn.

That’s exactly what it is. Anarchy pure and simple.

What’s really disturbing is that we have vets that can’t get a dime out of Washington, and all of a sudden we’re got unlimited bucks to burn off on foreign nation children.

There are many needs in our own nation, for our own people. And the pricks in Washington couldn’t be clearer about saying, “F-— you!”, to the American public.”

I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve had enough of this s—t!

I can't help but wonder what Ms. Lancelin’s attitude toward the atrocities committed against America by our own elected (and unelected) officials over the past six years has been.

Liberals who are generous with other people's time and money generally turn a blind eye until it affects them directly and in the here and now.

So Bernadette, are you just waking up now?

That is pretty much how I feel. And I know there is little we can do to stop this.

It’s a huge power grab to buy votes. And will probably be the nail in this country’s coffin.

I can’t read too many articles about this nightmare. My head explodes.

it costs the government $200 per day, per child

That's $73,000.00 per year, to put matters into an even more galling perspective.

Traditional Democrat constituencies have gotten cuckolded here.

Barack’s options here seem to be limited to throwing more sops their way, but we’re running out of sops.

These children really belong to China.
Because we are running huge federal budget deficits already!
We will be borrowing more money from China to support these
illegal underage arrivals.

Mass Exportations. We’ve got enough illegals now to make them our number one export for quite some time. Might equal out our trade imbalance at least. I rather like the idea. Sell all 30 million of them (since the last amnesty) to China.

I’ve come to the conclusion this entire border crash is nothing but a front for theft and money laundering. So called charities are raking in the doe. And I guarantee at least half of it is being kicked back to politicians and well connected rich people.

They came up with the plan to bring “kids” in as refugees so they could “grant” millions to charities. I’d like to know when these charities were chartered. I’ll bet some of them was fairly recent.

So called charities are raking in the [dough].

As it turns out, they...aren't...charities!

They're money-laundering non-profits in the liberal daisy chain of "non-governmental organizations".

Hey Doug. Good to see you out...

Well, one would hope they’d wake up. Nothing has seemed to do it yet. Massive unemployment..., nope, that doesn’t matter either.

Talk about a group of people who have been abused by their masters...

And yet here we are the Republicans who are guilty of the same thing in essence.

Doug mentioned something along the same line of reasoning. One would hope they would start waking up.

As I mentioned to Doug though, as Republicans we have been led astray too by leaders who don’t give a damn about our nation or us.

All politicians in this world are polluted. The GOP, as yet, has managed not to “boo” at God explicitly, whereas Democrats did. So for the time being that remains a relative vantage point. However, more than passive non-opposition to God is going to be needed. People who care enough to embrace God into their lives will be needed.

This touches on something that is a big problem for me.

Who do you dislike the most, the enemy that comes straight at you, or the enemy within that should know your cause and respect it, but then betrays you behind your back?

The GOPe betrays us from within. Furthermore, they say one thing and then either back or stand idle while the Demcorats do what they do. Our own team enables the godless.

Our team doesn’t respect God in the slightest. If they did, they would be standing up to evil.

Not trying to give you a hard time. I’m just frustrated as can be that we don’t have advocacy in Washington, D. C.

I believe it is a folly if we come at this from the viewpoint of putting trust in any human. It is mostly damage mitigation that matters now. The GOP can buy time for evangelists to do their thing.

Ms. Bernadette Lancelin needs to get in contact with Sheila Jackson-Lee and see if she

I agree with your concept trust in God vs man.

Sadly I cannot agree that the republicans will facilitate more time for our evangelists. For me there are Christian as well as secular evangelists.

Our secular evangelists would give more time to our Christian evangelists, if the GOPe weren’t helping to defeat them. And by defeating them, the GOPe cut all evangelists short.

The GOPe is a bigger threat than the a Democrats right now, because they defeat our ability to fight back in ways the Democrats can’t.

They silence the voices of our best and brightest, The Democrats couldn’t do that. We could fight that. We have no ability to fight the GOPe. It uses all it’s power to defeat us.

I don’t do that or advocate for it, but look at the lengths the GOPe goes to to defeat our voice. Look at Mississippi.

Look at Boehner, a man that could defund any Obama project he wants to, and doesn’t.

Look at the GOPe that continually trash talks the Tea Party.

Even when we have the majority, our voice is silent in the halls of government.

At the state level not so much, but look at what the GOPe engaged in at the gubernatorial level recently too. They were willing to oust the rebublucan in favor of a Democrat.

I believe there are decent people who are not devout Christians. They have fallen out at some point, but still know there is a right and wrong. When they push for right, they are evangelizing to an extent. And they are advocating for God’s will to be done, even if not from within the religious framework. I believe a God still works through some of these people.
