Hmmm. I don’t think Detroit is that far away. Maybe they should give the Detroit Chief of Police a call and seek a little advice from him. I don’t think the demographics are that different between the two are they? Seems like Detroit has told it’s folks to man up and arm up and-——ta da. Less crime. Maybe. Haven’t seen any data to support the Chief but it makes sense to me.
Just how many of those murders were committed with .50 caliber rifles?...Or so-called assault weapons?
Answer: Zero percent.

What has worked for Detroit may not work in Chicago because many of the shootings in Chicago are gang related. But it couldn’t hurt.

If the Democrats are going to disregard the 2nd Amendment to ban arms, then the arms owners should have the right to disregard the First Amendment and ban the Democrats who ban arms in defiance of the Constitution. Turnabout is fairplay, unless you are a so-called Liberal Democrat, of course.
If Rauner was smart he would run against Quinn on “they are trying to take away your guns. . .your security” and on the diseases and wave of crimes coming into Illinois by the illegals.
PS How would you like to live in Chicago without a firearm?

But that won’t solve the problem because the men will “marry” a dozen or more women if that’s what it takes to continue to procreate all over town. And it won’t make them provide for their offspring either. The only “real answer” is castration.
If the folks doing the shooting on the South Side actually HAD those kind of weapons, they would be RUNNING the city - not just the South Side.
Simpler: "Women, if you have a child out of wedlock, then you will get zero money from government. Get married to a man with a decent job, go to work yourself, or starve. Those are your choices."

It is not just in Chicago. . .around this neck of the woods, more babies mean more $$$ from the government even in a two parent home.
You left out the local church charity option,
which I would definitely keep in there.
Of course, the pastors would be a lot more diligent about the use of their charity resources,
and just might require some behavioral/spending changes on the party of the petitioner.
Well of course he does. Leaders will do anything to try to blame gun violence on anything or anyone other than Black inner-city kids.
This could be stopped in about a matter of weeks if they truly wanted to stop it.
I don’t think these people actually have a goal of procreating.
They’re not thinking past the big O.
