Air accident investigators are planning to inspect the proposed flight plan lodged by pilots on board Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 to see if they flew over a warzone to save fuel. The 17-year-old jet was shot down over eastern Ukraine despite British, European and US commercial aircraft being warned against using the airspace since April. One of the major questions is whether the Malaysian flight crew received the warning from flight safety officials about the risk to safety. One aviation expert revealed: 'Malaysia Airlines, like a number of other carriers, have been continuing to use it because it is a shorter route, which means less fuel and therefore less money.' The jet was travelling at 33,000 feet at 490 knots when it disappeared from radar screens while approaching the Russian border.

Not during my vacation...
Let's not forget, not only the evil man who set things into motion, but the weak, inept enabler who emboldens the thug.
“It is not a war zone”
It doesn’t matter who was elected and who is shooting. If it quacks like a duck it is duck.
It is a war zone—don’t fly in it and don’t let anyone you care about fly in it.
Bingo. Larry McDonald, the penultimate Democrat patriot.
Nobody here loves Vlad. We appreciate a guy who pursues his own country’s interests, since we don’t have one in this country, and we wish we had someone on our side that fought for freedom the way he fights for .... whatever he is fighting for.
Malaysian Airlines new slogan: ‘Take a chance flying us. If we land safely, you get $2000.’
Russia joined that club long ago. Just ask Lt Col Gennadi Osipovich:
"I saw two rows of windows and knew that this was a Boeing," he said. "I knew this was a civilian plane. But for me this meant nothing. It is easy to turn a civilian type of plane into one for military use."Minutes later, he fired two air-to-air missiles, sending Korean Air Lines Flight 007 crashing into the sea, killing 269 people and causing what President Boris N. Yeltsin has called the greatest tragedy of the cold war.
At least the USS Vincennes had the excuse that they believed they were under attack by a fighter armed with Exocet missiles. Earlier, in the same waters, the USS Stark had been hit by an Exocet fired by an Iraqi Mirage, supposedly by mistake. 37 sailors died.
The Ukrainian rebels apparently thought they were bagging another AN-26.
National Russianism.
I was wondering the same. Aircraft are being SHOT DOWN there...but then that’s life. The important thing is CARBON FOOTPRINT and by killing 400 or so people, carbon emissions will be cut, DRASTICALLY, which should help the airline cut its carbon taxes that it has to pay Europe each time one of their planes passes through.
So it was a NO LOSE deal for the airline. If they take the more direct route, over the war zone, and survive, their trip is still shorter, which means less carbon tax. If they get shot down, then they get a HUGE BREAK, as they can take credit for all the carbon that would have been burned by the passengers - for the remainder of each of their lives.
Hopefully the Dems won’t get any ideas from this, as I like the idea of flying from Point A to Point B safely.
The airliner in the picture with Putin-——is that the Libyan Air Boeing 727 that was intentionally shot down by the Israeli F4 back in the early 70s?
Soviet GRU officers directing the shoot downs . Soviet troops arming and fighting with the ‘separatists’. This is naked aggression by Vlad and his commie boys.
Convince yourself all you want but this is a major international incident and should not be treated lightly or flippantly
