Rebel commander Igor Strelkov - widely believed in Kiev to be a serving Russian military intelligence officer - tweeted a boastful message shortly after Malaysian Airlines flight MH17 was downed.
The tweet indicated he thought his rebels had shot down an Antonov-26 military plane of the Ukrainian Air Force. The Antonov is a turboprop transport plane of a type used by Ukraine's forces.
The message read: 'In the area Torez we just hit down An-26, it's lying somewhere in the mine "Progress".
'We warned you- do not fly in "our sky". And here is the video confirmation of the "bird dropping".
'Bird fell fell near the mine, the residential sector was not disturbed. Civilians are not injured.'
Later as the horror became clear, the tweet was deleted.

What’s daming is the quick admission/bragging that they brought down the plane and the whereabouts. Going to be hard to refudiate seeing as they had all the answers right away.
So the Russian led forces immediately had claim responsibility and now want to hide that claim.
Those responsible claimed such contemporaneous with the event.
How many Americans died in “their” sky today? If we were still a nation worth its salt, we would send several loads of our best bombs over eastern Ukraine and teach them a valuable lesson. I doubt Putin would challenge us to save those rural rubes.

I agree. And seeing as how these ‘rural rubes’ just created a major international incident for President Putin - not to mention a serious migraine, as well - I’m like to think at this point Putin must be saying to himself that these clowns are no longer worth it.

I have to say that I’ve been puzzled by the pro Putin talk by many on the conservative side. I just don’t get how hating Obama means liking Putin?
Even prior to today’s events...since it’s not totally clear what happened to that airliner...Putin as some sort of hero? Wasn’t buying into that talk. The Russians, as well as the Chinese have been ‘evil’ empires for a bloody long time. 6 years of Obama doesn’t cure the evil...yes evil...lurking w/in those countries.

Because the Russians have likely infiltrated our movement, same as they’ve done the leftists. Right now Russia is building a coalition of far left and right wing parties throughout Europe both overtly and covertly, even extremist parties like Jobbick or Golden Dawn, who are Pro-Russian. There’s no hard evidence people like Alex Jones or others are on the Russkie payroll, but I think it be very odd if we didn’t also receive some of the FSB treatment other countries are getting.
When do we send in the bombers? Maybe take out one of his aircraft carriers.
Obama Derangement Syndrome. I despise Obama, have since before he became acting President, but that doesn’t mean I support Putin. Not the case with some, I’m afraid.
