Israels inner cabinet decided on expansion of military activities on Tuesday, after Egypts cease-fire efforts failed; news media were told a decision would only be made Friday morning.
The Israel Defense Forces ground operation in the Gaza Strip began after the inner cabinet met in secret on Thursday night in Tel Aviv. In a deceptive maneuver intended to give the impression that no significant expansion of the military operation would happen in the next 24 hours, Israeli officials told reporters the security cabinet would only be meeting on Friday morning.
A senior official, speaking on condition of anonymity, said the cabinet ministers had already approved the ground operation when it met Tuesday night, after the Egyptian cease-fire initiative fell through. “the basis of all warfare is deception”
Sun Tzu, 6th Century B.C.
A plane being shot down in Ukraine doesn’t hurt either.
General Tzu's head would explode if anyone suggested that war plans should be announced days or months ahead of time, I think.

But as far as trusting Obama, when he says he’s got Israel’s back ... no, I wouldn’t do that.
No, occams razor applies here- which states the simplest answer is usually the right one. The simplest answer, being in this case “Obama is a moron” is the one I’m going with.
