When they do get technical means to detect the tunnels, they should keep it/them secret for surprise in future combat, and prepare a special operation to make every Hamas operative seek to avoid tunnel duty for a generation.
In addition to technical means of detection, an Intelligence task force should get to know the tunnelers, so that they get to know all their “tells” - movements of equipment, supplies, debris, or technical experts - and map them out in detail for attack

We blew 20,000 lbs of Composition B in 30lb Cratering charges, a little C4 and 6,000 feet of det cord to blow up just two tunnel complexes on the Batangan Peninsula in Vietnam.
Each complex was about 3,000 long. We hauled the cratering charges down by hand into the (usually) 1 meter square tunnels, placing them 5-10 meters apart. They were linked with det cord, then we’d blow about 3,000lbs at a time.
The trick was finding the continuation of the tunnel in the resulting linear crater. :-)
Take a giant ditch witch, cut a gigantic hole at the border, fill it with rebar, drill deep holes every three foot, fill with water, rig the holes with water level sensors.

booby traps. leave the tunnels intact, but booby trap them with a large number of undetectable anti-personnel mines that are set to go off after a random number of infrared detections. Different bombs set for different counts, so that they go off days, weeks, and months later based on detection counts. And/or wire ‘em up for video so the IMF can play whack-a-mole at the Israeli ends of the tunnels.
