Okay, if I understand that right, instead of referring to the Free Republic posted article and link ... use the actual article itself, and original link to the original publication.

And then on the word count ... I understand the number. The magic number is 600 words ... If the original article is less than 600 words, excerpt out 1/2 or more; if more than 600 words, then have no more than 300 words for an excerpt.

And then, for attribution — a question here — is just the active and working link okay by itself?? ... Or does the name of the publication have to be included along with the original link?

As far as the excluded list, if I understand right, when I do post an original article here on Free Republic (in its own thread, by itself), your algorithm actually checks for that and will let me know if it cannot be used. I only say that, because mainly I’ll just be using articles that I’ve already posted on Free Republic in their own thread (but I’ll have to use their original link when posting on another thread.).

I hope I got all that right, because I would like to make reference to those articles that I’ve posted, when I’m commenting on a different thread.
