President Obama tells kids he 'loses his mind' over guacamole
LA Times ^ | July 18, 2014 | Rebecca Bratek

President Obama made a culinary confession Friday: He “loses his mind” over chips and guacamole.

The president made a brief, surprise visit to the East Room to address 54 children and their guardians, shortly after speaking to the press corps about the Malaysian airliner shot down over Ukraine yesterday.

“We are currently spending $10 billion a year on our school lunch programs,” she said. “So it’s not surprising that there are certain interests that are resisting change and trying to take us back to the old ways of doing business.

So that's where his mind went...

Yes, I can see that meeting with kids who designed "healthy meals" and telling them about his love for guacamole is a really high priority - who cares about Russia, Israel, Iran -- all the various crises...

And note the little piece of info of the Federal Government spending $10 BILLION a year on school lunches, which are mostly thrown away since the government required the specifics for their ingredients and composition.

How did this country ever survive back when parents packed the kids' lunches?

So. We have a shot down airliner. We have Israel and Hamas going at it. We have thousands of illegal kids being brought over our border. And the child-in-chief is more interested in his guacamole?????

“Elena Hirsch, an 11-year-old from Michigan, created “Barack-oli and Mich-room Obama-lette,” a dish inspired by and named for the first family. It also included “car-Malia-ized onions” and “butternut sq-Asha” for Malia and Sasha.”

Elena, that’s called “sucking up.” Go into politics.

Yes, God-forbid those diabolical, handlebar mustache twirling, evil cackling parents watching their kids starve to death in public schools.

My Dad served in WWII and Viet Nam. When he was a kid he took lard sandwiches to school. How could he grow up to be a member of "The Greatest Generation" after eating lard sandwiches for his school lunch?

Shutdown the school lunch program. Brown bag. School is there for education not child feeding and day care.

No, no, you're wrong.

That's exactly what school is for, and NOT education....with a massive surplus of six-figure babysitters.

I know plenty of parents that pack their kids' lunches - including me :-)

All kidding aside, my daughter, and the majority of her friends, do bring their own lunch.

Not after you fill it with 'crack'. Obama has a versatile chef.

When I started teaching at a rural school in the 80s, the lunch ladies actually cooked the lunches. True, they often used gov’t surplus, but they actually cooked. Today that is impossible because federal requirements say they have to meet calorie, fat, and sodium limits on each serving. There is no way they can comply, so they heat already prepared meals.

If you are really looking for the guys with the evil mustaches, look for the food distributors who are getting rich by supplying the tasteless, un filling meals that are getting thrown away by kids who have some idea of what food should taste like. I imagine local hog farmers my also be profiting if they can get the contract to haul the schools garbage.

Soooo, this is why he is hell bent on bringing illegals in from Mexico, guacamole running. One can think this was a cute little thing to say to kids, IT WASN’T, it was a megalomaniac sticking it right in our face. Think about it......”he loses his mind over guacamole”, I’m surprised he didn’t say and tacos.

We could start by docking the food stamp allotment for family members getting the free grub @ school.

Currently that isn’t done.

It would cost more to keep track of it than it would save. The real constituency here is the suppliers and the employees, at every level from Federal to your local elementary cafeteria. The people eating the food are just the excuse.

We have thousands of illegal kids being brought over our border.

I agree with the thread that the kids are a distraction. What is coming over the border is weapons and people to use those weapons on Americans. The thread mentions this is a common military tactic ...

Here's the thread ... http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-chat/3182828/posts
Title of thread is 'Former Border Patrol Agent Warns What's Coming

Don't want to scare anyone but this being a site for the truth .... the truth is being shared.

I was part of the ‘greatest generation and served in the Pacific in WWII. My sole brother was killed on Okinawa a few months before I landed on Leyte. We survived the great depression by having many meals of days old bread soaked in reconstituted powdered milk. At the time we didn’t think such a life would be put in the category of tin foil which seems to be the material of choice for some people..

So many brave young men, and so many families touched by loss. In 2006 my second cousin's remains were found in New Guinea. His plane crashed in bad weather after a bombing run on Apr 16, 1944.

I am sorry for your loss, and I thank you for your service.
