Thirteen IDF soldiers have been killed since Saturday night, the IDF said. The process of identifying the bodies is still ongoing.
Golani Brigade, armor and engineering corps forces were met with effective close range guerrilla actions in Shejaiya, Gaza. The dead are apparently all from the Golani Brigade. The Brigade's commander, Col. Rasan Alian, was also lightly injured.
According to Channel 2, there were several incidents that involved IDF deaths that occurred one after the other after midnight. In the most serious incident, around 1:00 a.m., an armored personnel carrier hit a large explosive charge, or may have been hit by an antitank missile, and the soldiers inside were killed. In another incident, anti-tank missiles were fired at a structure soldiers had entered. Two other soldiers were apprently killed by gunfire, possibly from snipers. There is also some speculation about possible "friendly fire" or an IDF hand grenade that accidentally went off.

Thirteen good men sacrificed to spare savages who hate them. What a bargain.
God bless them. Fighters on G-d’s side.
My brother in law’s cousin is part of this brigade..he is pacing around the house right now..they have not released the names of the dead, his Mom is a nervous wreck..God Bless these soldiers who died for their country
Pray for Israel.
Not just their country, but for good an decent freedom loving people everywhere.
The Israelis shouldn’t play the Arabs game. They carpet bomb an area, bulldoze the rubble then wall it off. Take a chunk of territory every time rockets are fired. If the palis end up in one square mile on the Egyptian border, so be it.
God’s rules of engagement are established in the Old Testament and will be followed by the Messiah.
This past Palm Sunday I was lead to read about what Jesus was saying before He entered Jerusalem. In Luke, He told the parable of the talents, which we all know. However, what is never discussed as far as I have heard is the last verse. Too controversial? Luke 19:27 “But these enemies of mine, who did not want me to reign over them, bring them here and slay them in my presence.”
From a Blue Star mom and Gold Star sister, give him a hug from me.
I’m not Christian; neither are the Israelis.
Thank U I will tell him that..they are still waiting for word on the names of those who died..the waiting is the worst of it
Hamas claims they have taken an Israeli soldier hostage..if true I wonder how Israel will respond
I hope Obama takes notes. Their respose will be the proper one.
When the Hitlerjugende took potshots at GIs from a residence, American artillery would flatten the building. If the Israelis fought like the Americans did in Normandy, not as single building would be standing in Gaza. Don't even get me started on what the Nazis and Russians did.
Hamas jackasses are celebrating in Gaza..unfortunately this soldier doesn’t stand a chance he is as good as dead
The residents of Shejaiya, a known hotbed of terrorists, were notified ahead of time by the IDF to leave the area because the IDF intends to enter it. Hamas had filled the neighborhood with booby traps well ahead of time, and the advance warning given by the IDF may have helped the terrorists there prepare for the IDF to enter.[br][br]
You have got to be ****ing kidding me. They’re sacrificing the lives of their young soldiers to win the global PR battle against a hopelessly stacked deck? Painfully stupid.
I am sick. Watch the video and I tell you, the clapping and cheering of people means what?
Flatten Gaza. Tear it down like the high places were torn down by the faithful.
forgot the link...
I say Israel needs to do what it has to do and do it NOW..there is no point to any cease fire, for what..for Hamas to get more rockets..for those soldiers to have died in vain..HELL NO, KILL OFF HAMAS NOW..Israel has NOTHING to lose, absolutely nothing because Israel knows they are on their own, they just have to do it and screw the consequences..its either save themselves or Israel will cease to exist
You are absolutely correct. And when they put their trust in God to go before them, as in the past, they will glorify the One True God before the whole world as never before.
Thinking about you all.
Thanks I appreciate that..these soldiers, like our military, give their lives for their country and they do so bravely..I don’t want these soldiers to have died in vain..they have to destroy Hamas no matter what the Jew haters say..they destroy Hamas, and they can live in peace and safety, if they don’t, Hamas would have won
Whenever I hear anyone talk about a soldier dying in vain, I have to respond. You see, like God, I view war and peace in its world history context and I have come to an understanding of how He views our individual lives within that context. There is no greater love than this, that a man should lay down his life for his friend.
People capable of love, will love those next to them in war. Everything from the time Adam and Eve bit the apple, was planned to reconcile man with God. He misses being with us. But His plan has to be executed perfectly and it will be. If there are those called to fight against evil who are killed doing so, they have not fought in vain even if the war is lost (so to speak). You see, I view each of man’s wars as a battle in the war against evil.
That war is coming to a head. It will look like the enemy is winning, but they have already lost and they know it, so they do as much damage as possible while they have time. Kind of like a president out to destroy a Republic within an 8 year time span.
God has chosen Israel because of their tenacity, and their sense of humor, both characteristics of their God. What nation could survive without either? When Israel as a nation cries out to God, He will answer and it will be wondrous to behold. Zechariah is a wonderful, though tense, book.
Israel as a nation will repent, basically. That is basically what God is waiting for and why he protects it?
Yes. Acknowledging Him instead of denying Him.
