Skip to comments.Cruz to Harry Reid: Get Out of ‘Ritz- Carlton in D.C.’ and See the Border
Posted on 07/20/2014 11:53:06 AM PDT by Nachum
Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) responded to Senate Majority Leader Harry Reids (D-NV) characterization of the U.S.-Mexico border as secure by telling his colleague to come take a look for himself.
President Obama and Harry Reid both engage debates divorced from the facts and divorced from the reality, Cruz said on Fox News Sunday. Harry Reid lives in the Ritz-Carlton in Washington, D.C., and Im sure from his perspective the border seems secure. I would invite Harry Reid to come with me down Texas and see the border.
Ill tell you who is holding these kids ransom, Cruz continued, Harry Reid and the president, because their view is dont do anything to fix the problem. He mentions comprehensive immigration reform. The Gang of Eight bill is one of the causes of this problem. What the kids are saying they are coming because they believe theyll get amnesty. Part of the Gang of Eight bill promising amnesty.

Ted Cruz zings them again. lol
Point of Order.......
Lurch is busy trying to justify the continuation of the negotiations with Iran....... they are almost to the point of fruition
Also, please note that there is a terrible war in process in Gaza where tens of women and children are being killed, unlike syria where the deaths near a quarter million
Besides that there is a jurisdictional issue. Homeland security and HHS are dealing with the border. Next you’ll be ragging on lurch to make the IRS obey the law like Putin is in Ukraine
Cruz said that 682 illegals came across in just one sector that he visited on just one day.
Do the math on that —
Oh, Ted, C’mon-— you know Harry has a pedicure appointment, so he can’t travel...
It’s not a pedicure appointment....... it’s treatment for chronic toe nail fungus.
Do those things and illegal aliens will deport themselves and pay for the trip.
Harry doesn’t even like smelling tourists in Washington.
How can he afford a suite at the Ritz for a year. Much less a 6 year term.
What would the cost of that be?
This guy went into office a low priced attorney and now he and his kids own hundreds of acres in Nevada. Someone posted a map of his lots awhile back.
I hate this political “for show” crap on either side.
Get in there and get some laws passed to fix this nightmare. I could give twoo hoots where anyone is as long as they do that.
The Gang of Eight
Sen. Michael Bennet, D-CO
Sen. Richard J. Durbin, D-IL
Sen. Jeff Flake, R-AZ
Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-SC
Sen. John McCain, R-AZ
Sen. Bob Menendez, D-NJ
Sen. Marco Rubio, R-FL
Sen. Chuck Schumer, D-NY
Well then he's really not going to like the smell of the wetbacks.
Unfortunately “for show” influences public opinion. We criticize W for not standing up to these people - so here is Cruz zinging them with a nice mention of the Ritz Carlton - and I think it’s a good thing. Sarah does the same thing - we can’t just let the left hog the whole stage.
if you want him to go there just tell him that there is a penny on the ground and then get out of his way.
The best Republican ticket for 2016 would be Ted Cruz/Rick Perry.
The other major Republican hopefuls — Rand Paul, Jeb Bush, and Mitt Romney — are mediocre products of nepotism.
How could the Democrats continue to characterize Republicans as old, anti-Hispanic white guys if Ted Cruz, a young Hispanic-American, were chosen as the Republican candidate for president?
Ted Cruz for 2016. Si se puede!
President and Vice-president have to be from different states. The state of confusion doesn’t count.
