Obama can Federalize the troops...and the Fed government pays.

This will cost Texas 12 million a month...and I'm sure that Obama is just gleeful at that. Obama's trying to break Perry and Texas. The Dems don't want Perry as a candidate for 2016.

In other words, at this point, Texas got set up. They sure as hell can't stop Homeland Security for escorting this illegals.

They will not be armed.

Washington is giving these people the green light.

God Bless Rick Perry and the state of TX for stemming the flow.

Learn the Constitution, when the Oath of POTUS fails, Obama has no power.
Perry and every state in the union now has the power to Shut that border down
and take matters in their own hands.

Pres. Obama has been criticized for declining to send Nat’l Guard troops to patrol/guard the increasing mythical land border between U.S.A. Mexico. I thought Nat’l Guard was under control of state governors, who, at their discretion, could accede to a presidential request to place the troops under presidential control.
Pres. GW Bush could not take control of LA Nat’l Guard during the Katrina debacle until the feckless Governor signed the required release. Bush, of course, was faulted.

“This will cost Texas 12 million a month”

I’d say at least 3/4 of the state population would gladly help out and send one dollar to the fund each month. That would cover the costs.

The State of Texas needs to set up a donation box. Funding problem solved.

The States have the power and authority to arrest any DHS agent for treason.
Aiding and abetting the invaders Armed or Not, is very real.

Do not forget that the Governor is a Federal elected agent.

I hope all the Republicans in the House and Senate rise up and go after Obama to Federalize the troops. Texas shouldn't have to pick up the tab for a Federal Border.

That 3.7 billion that Obama wants has almost "0" for border security.

Call it what you want....3.7 billion is buying a lot of votes...for the Dems.

Are we (Texas) to pay for it all?

It is YOUR nation! Git on down here or at least pony up.

Sorry but that is a pet peeve of mine.
TX is not responsible for the border, We bust ou buts here to secure it, 49 other states take walk.

Washington is the problem.

“Sen. Juan “Chuy” Hinojosa, D-McAllen”

Idiot of the highest magnitude...

On a side note, if anything the expenditure of “Texas” money is finite...12 million a month sounds conservative...

It will not be sustainable...From a fiduciary perspective...I would like to know where the money is coming from, yet we know not a damn dime will come from the Feds to help this situation...

If anything the Feds will spend money to do whatever it can to torpedo this effort, and it will go away as soon as the money dries up...

But of course Joe Strauss laid out some of the details before, just so the folks (democrats) can have a chance to step up and voice their disapproval (of the border surge) that will directly effect their desire to bloat their voting block for this November...

Well, that’s 1000 personnel to hand out water and blankets in the processing shelters when and if the invaders are actually caught...

I seriously doubt they will be handed rifles, much less the ammunition to effectively give pause to the influx of these people desiring to break our laws...

Yawn...Nap time.../sarc

I believe most TX NG units are infantry. It would be nice if we had a little more firepower to send down there. They need a bunch of fast Zodiac boats, quadrunners, drones and other air assets to turn keep people from crossing the river or to return them immediately to the other side if they do manage to make it across.

I do not know that we can effectively send troops to the border due to posse comitatis.
I am not a lawyer, never went to law school or even learned latin in the Catholic church.

But the law is the law.

Near as I can tell, we need to overturn some amendments and laws.

That shit aint easy.

We wont fix this gig with guns

I have wondered why Perry can’t contract with other states, who are especially impacted by forced housing of these illegals, to help Texas pay towards the 5 million per week to send the reportedly, “unarmed” National Guard to the Texas border?

I'm here, in Dallas. If Perry called for volunteers there would be 1-Million
men at that border in 24 Hours. The Militia is not just in Tx btw, and there is a silent
majority of ex Marines, Army, and Navy ready for the call.

The total economic costs from this increased surge of illegal crossings through our borders far exceeds the costs of defending our borders. If the borders were somehow sealed shut tomorrow, the financial impact from those who have illegally entered our country during this recent surge, will still be felt for years.

That is another reason why we have immigration laws already in place allowing people to immigrate at a much slower rate.

Posse comitatis does not apply to National Guard units and state defense forces while under the authority of a state. It applies mainly to Federal troops, with an exception for the Coast Guard.

You bring up an interesting point. Why does America the "imperialist" Have to take these people? Spain was the imperialist that brutalized them. We have never been imperialist. The Brits have, the Dutch, the French the Portuguese...Let us not forget the Italians, Russians, Chinese Blah Blah Blah

But Never America, so why does the nationanal and international media rag about American imperialism?

Building up to 1,000 over one month? WTF, over?

We mustered more than that the day after 19 Apr 1775.

Texas seriously needs to re-do their Constitution on militia since they are on the border with Mexico. 1k guards can help turn out 50K all-volunteer militia.

I urge everyone to contact Perry and Sen Cruz. This is unacceptable.
