Russian President Vladimir Putin lashed out against a chorus of international condemnation Monday over Moscow's role in training and arming the rebels believed to have shot down a Malaysia Airlines passenger plane Thursday, killing all 298 on board.

If our own mismanagement would allow us to drill here, drill now, approve the Kestone pipeline, and ease the controls on exporting NatGas, Putin would be vastly diminished.
All without firing a shot, and at vast enhancement to the US economy.
The US admitted that they shot it down immediately and they paid reparations.
Does anyone expect that from Putin???
Just to throw this into the pot, when KAL 007 was shot down, and everyone’s eyes were on the USSR, Mexico shot down a small US civilian airplane claiming it was hauling drugs. No drugs were found in the crash site.
I read about it in an obscure newspaper, now out of business, at the time.

Obviously there were differences in immediate responses by the govts. My point is only to add the Iranian airbus to the repeated mentioning of KAL. We had our own accidental military/civilian shoot down. It’s an historical fact.
Where’s the chorus of international condemnation over all of King Obama’s aid to terrorists?

My only point is to point out that KAL and MH-17 were NOT the only civilian passenger jets shot down by military missiles.
Reading these stories, it’s all too easy to overlook the Vincennes shoot down.
During the case with Iranian plane the sailors thought they are in immediate danger and thus had to act quick. Russian trigger happy terrorists just shot down a plane they saw flying by at high altitude.
and that helps the investigation of this shootdown and the return of the bodies of the dead how???

Willful historical blindness is counter productive to finding truth.
Probably true. It’s still worthwhile to gain the historical context and perspective of noting all THREE shoot downs of large passenger jets by military missiles.
I’m quite aware that the U.S. Navy shot down an Iranian airliner. How does that justify the shooting down of the Malaysian airliner?
What about the REAL coverup?
WHY was this plane on the course is was over a war zone where they knew planes were being shot down?
WHY did originally assigned flight crew opt OUT of fyling that flight -
WHY was it, additionally, reported to’ve been 300 miles off course - you can’t do that by ‘mistake’

It seems you are too eager to find a conspiracy. Over 50 airliners flew over this area during the past 24 hours. Flying there (above 33,000 feet) was not something unordinary and allowed by Eurocontrol air traffic management.
America doesn’t have a dog in this fight with no Americans on board. That said, send the identified remains home to their families and worry about politics later.
Well the mischief maker has now stepped in a pile of dog doo. He is going to be hard pressed to get himself out of this one. Those 40 or so oligarchs Putey works for are going to be royally PO’d at European sanctions.
That was not what the rush was about. Bodies needed to be examined before they were tampered with. The seating arrangement in the plane is known so examining the shrapnel fragments in bodies and angles of entry wounds was important in obtaining the evidence.
Russians took the bodies and kept them under their control for extended time without anyone observing that the evidence is not tampered with or destroyed.
