Bribed surgeons implanted counterfeit spinal hardware into the backs of potentially thousands of patients as part of a vast scheme overseen by Michael D. Drobot, the former hospital executive who as part of a plea deal admitted to bribing indicted California state Sen. Ron Calderon, according to a new lawsuit.

When you put low rent politicians in charge of medical decisions, you will get counterfeit screw makers teaming up with shady hospital execs to bribe the politicians to make money. Krazy Glue works as well on small cuts as the FDA approved cyanoacrylates at about 2% of the cost — why wouldn’t screws from Home Depot? (Isn’t this subsidized by the Feds in the Affordable Care Act, somewhere?)
