I don’t get it. According to Rasmussen, 47 percent of likely voters approve of the job President Obama is doing.
They called Ronald Reagan the Teflon president but the title now belongs to Barack Obama. Nothing sticks to him. Not Fast and Furious, not the trouble associated with ObamaCare, not Benghazi, not the IRS scandal, not the deal for Bergdahl, I’m betting not the border crisis and not anything else, including his less than forceful response to Mr. Putin for Russia’s role in the Malaysian plane disaster.

As I'm reading through the thread, you're the first poster to say something that has relevance to breaking into that 47%.
I'll bring your statement one step further. That abused woman will leave the bad relationship if she has confidence that a new better one is available. There has to be clarity about why that new relationship is better. A new political relationship with the Republican Party? They talk the talk, then make so many compromises that they deliver on nothing.

Voters are not going to leave the known bad deal with Obama for what might be a worse deal with the 'pubs, who stand for nothing.

Because 47% of the population get stuff from the government instead of paying taxes. Apparently about 10% of those people have stopped slobbering because it turns out not all of the “free stuff” is actually free.

I meet a lot of young people in their 30’s who don’t have any faith in the political process and when pressed, will admit they do not vote. Those who do vote figure their individual vote won’t matter anyway. After the will of the California voters was ignored twice by the court system on gay marriage, I understand their doubt and hesitancy. I still vote though.

I believe that the inner city Democrat voters voted twice for Obama because they perceive that it was in their best economic interest to do so.
That is where they must be convinced by the Republican Party. You want to convince the inner city Democrat voters to vote Republican. Put out some commercials about the water getting turned off in Detroit.
Just show a hand going to a faucet and turning it on with no water coming out. The narrator says, “Here’s what voting Democrat for fifty years in Detroit got them.” They can understand that.

For the same reason here in Wisconsin Scott Walker will probably have a close race with a liberal airhead named Mary Burke. Walker brought the state out of deep debt and broke the power of the unions that put the state in the red. Burke has no qualifications other than an advisor to her father’s business. A lot of her past was spent snowboarding in Colorado...no lie. Many libs in this state would vote for Jeffrey Dahmer over Walker.

An increasing share of the former middle class believes the same thing; they can’t find worthwhile work, and think gubmint handouts can give them some semblance of the standard of living we used to have.

I’m sure as an election neared every ghetto resident would have their water back on; that is how it works. Ghetto people are swayed by what was on TV the night before the election; there is no analysis beyond that...
